Hello
This post is to discuss weather imdb information on actors is reliable or not. Truth is i dont think it is as reliable as we all might think, as it is updated by people not the source itself, i have found out that if you buy a pro account you can update others profiles and information. So how reliable is that? lets think again.

As with any unofficial website, IMDB can be reliable. It also has a high chance of not being reliable. Just like Wikipedia.

i edit Tony Munch's filmography...most of the time. so they take a long time to update it after i submit the info i have. i'm not sure if it's 'cause they're swamped with work or they check to see if they were really in that show/movie. but i'm pretty sure the site is 70% accurate at least.
one of Tony's movies...".45"..is supposed to release this year. as the release date says. but it wrapped up production earlier this year. and they've not updated in a LONG time. so i'm not sure.

Like Gouki said, IMDb has about as much credibility/reliability as Wikipedia does. Tvtome thought of it quite highly though.

I'd give IMDB more credibility than TV.com, and maybe even more than Wikipedia. But it still can easily be wrong.

Agreed on the last bit, but you'd seriously rate it higher than TV.com? I wouldn't.

I've been the editor of a few shows on there for a long time, certainly while I still hated it. I dunno, something just flipped - one day I hated it, the next I didn't. There are some major faults with the site, and the staff are fairly inept, but all in all it's much better than TV Tome ever was . And don't worry, you're not the only one surprised by my change of heart - I've shocked most the members there as well !

Not it's not, if only because for a series like the X-Files or Farscape, I can't have a complete series guide, complete with Trivia and cast lists without click on any link beyond "show all seasons."
