I cant make friends by going up to people I like the look of and saying 'Hi! Im Adam, and you?' That seems dumb but you can try it. (But dont called your self Adam). I think that way is just weird and from the point of view of the other person they would be freaked out.The methords I use are just a way of making you familar with each other so at least you have talked before you start passing out your names.
I make friends by casual talk and situations where we are forced to talk. For example a passing comment that leads to a conversation that breaks the ice and we get to know each other so we can pass names around. Also if you are forced to work together or have to ask them something as you dont know that gives you can excuse to talk to them again as a way of making sure you talk.

I don't find making friends easy, I'm not the talkative type (hard to believe isn't it? ) so I just wait for people to approach me. But I've never changed of school which might be harder to make friends than in uni because probably everyone has their own group by then. This year I made fantastic new friends in uni but we were all in the same situation, new people with no friends lol. One of my best friends in uni came up to me and said 'Hi I'm Jime, how are you?' and we've been together wandering around campus since then, she introduced me to Meri and the three of us do a lot of things together. Just be yourself, you are bound to find someone who likes you by who you are

Islander, you seem to dislike Vortex... As Adam sid, casual conversation is the best way to start. Don't expect it to be immediate though, it takes a while but the reward is worth it.

Islander, you seem to dislike Vortex... You reckon? I disliked Vortex before. I hate members that say they're leaving forever, only to return in a couple of weeks time (hence, Adam, my comment in the other thread). Add them together for yourself...

Maybe you two should try to get along.... Or just stop commenting on each others posts?

DAM YOU AND YOUR AFTER EVERY QUIP! Puppy Adam just bit Islander! VORTEX, I hope you're successful in making new friends. I'm terrible at making friends myself, but if I were you, I'd try to follow Adam's advice. You could try to see which people have similar interests to yourself, and see if you can build a friendship from there.

What do you mean 'Puppy Adam just like Islander'? I said "Puppy Adam just bit Islander." I called you a puppy because I said in the animal thread that if you were an animal, I thought you'd be a puppy - and I said you bit Islander, because of your, "DAM YOU...!" post. So Adam the puppy bit Islander. Just mind you don't go chasing Gideon the cat.
