Alrighty! For those 'newbies' wandering around, wondering what on Earth the LPE is, and what it stands for, here's a quick introduction: This is the Longest Post Ever. In the original thread, the idea was to create the longest post ever, but now this has changed just to gaining a thread which is 100 pages long (and no, it shouldn't be LTE, it's tradition ). It's basically the main off-topic area of this board - anything (within reason) goes! To get an idea of what this is about, take a look at: LPE Part 1, LPE Part 2, LPE Part 3, LPE Part 4, LPE Part 5, LPE Part 6, LPE Part 7, LPE Part 8 and LPE Part 9One short introduction, to aid all 'newbies', courtesy of Islander!

Well, we're one tenth of the way to LPE Part 100.
How old would we all be by that time, do you think? If we say that the average LPE takes two-to-three months to fill up, and if we assume that that will remain the case with all future LPEs, then that would be 90 multiplied by...say...ten weeks...and 90 multiplied by 10 is 900 - so that's 900 weeks.
So there are 52 weeks in a year - now 900 divided by 52 equals...17.3 and a whole load of other numbers afterwards, but I'll leave it at 17.3. So...in 17.3 years, I will 35.

Stop posting so much, guys. Its too fast. The BBC system is stupid. Why isnt each channel named something unique, instead of just a number? Apparently, the season finale of Doctor Who wont make sense if I havent seen season one with Doctor 9. Hail, you naughty naughty girl.

The BBC system is stupid. Why isnt each channel named something unique, instead of just a number? It makes far more sense to number them. They're all BBC channels - calling them different names would imply that they're different channels altogether, whereas they're not. A BBC programme can technically go on any of the four channels. However, each channel has it's own profile, so tends to get the same genre of shows. Shows do, on the other hand, swap channels a bit. For example, Who Do You Think You Are? started on BBC-2, as that's the channel whoes profile best matches that of the programme. However, it has become so popular, that this latest series has been moved to BBC-1 - a more primetime channel, with higher ratings. It still gets repeated the following week on BBC-2, though. Also, in time, it will undoubtably get a repeat on BBC-4. Apparently, the season finale of Doctor Who wont make sense if I havent seen season one with Doctor 9. Hmm nope. I don't seee why you won't understand it without seeing series one. All you really need to realise is how close the Doctor and Rose are getting, and that it started with the 9th Doctor. Simple. What did you think of Tooth and Claw? Did you even watch it?

I've just stumbled upon Wiki's article on Plan 9 From Outer Space. It's amazingly horrible in its production and such. Plan 9 was originally titled Grave Robbers from Outer Space, but it was changed to Plan 9 from Outer Space. The reason for the change is said to be because the original title was supposedly considered sacrilegious by the film's backers, the deacons of the Baptist Church of Beverly Hills (this story is documented in the film biography Ed Wood).
In reality, the Baptists who sponsored the film were not opposed to the title Grave Robbers from Outer Space. The exact circumstances are unknown, but the film, which took three years to release, was distributed as Plan 9 from Outer Space without any acknowledgement of the congregation. It is possible that Wood, or his distributor, were trying to avoid paying royalties.
To convince the church to bankroll the film, Wood had the entire cast baptized. However, since Tor Johnson, a professional wrestler, was such a huge man (well over 300 pounds) he couldn't fit into the church's baptismal. Thus the baptism was convened at a swimming pool.Read the entire article. It's hilarious. In other news: Tubular Bells — Is it horribly overrated, or is it not? I must know. Someone who's heard it, I demand you tell me.

Or you'll probably die.
Is it just me who's noticed/imagined, or does anyone else think that each new LPE has its own distinct and continuous personality? This one already feels intensely different to the last.

Or you'll probably die. Is it just me who's noticed/imagined, or does anyone else think that each new LPE has its own distinct and continuous personality? This one already feels intensely different to the last. Or I could die, yes... ICWP its natural to connect emotions to inanimate objects. I can see what you mean. It has a different atmosphere. I see it fresher and newer than the old LPE. More modern. Also I see it to be awkward like meeting someone for the first time because there is no flow of conversation yet. I have found the things that are bad luck to do from Wiki but a lot of them are hard to do: - Friday the 13th
- Number 13 and 4
- A black cat crossing one's path
- Step on cracks.
- Stepping on a line in pavement or floor cover
- Breaking a mirror
- Spilling over salt
- Putting a hat on a bed
- Opening an umbrella indoors
- Killing a ladybug/ladybird
- Killing a spider in one's home
- Walking underneath a ladder
- Saying "good luck"
- Replying "thank you" to someone wishing good luck
- Picking up a penny face-down
- Putting shoes on a table.
- In the British Navy it was traditionally considered unlucky to have a woman on board ship
- Among sailors it is considered unlucky to kill an albatross or a porpoise
- Among sailors it is considered bad luck to have anything blue aboard
- Saying "good luck" to an actor going onstage
- In theaters, "Macbeth" must not be uttered by anyone unless it is necessary to the show.
- Sinistrality (being left-handed)
- Seeing one magpie
- A bird flies into one's window. In some variants, it is believed to only be bad luck if the bird dies.
- Using a Ouija board; it is believed by some to attract bad spirits
- In some areas it is believed to be bad luck to kill a mockingbird
- Cutting your nails at night.
- five leaf clovers
- Matthew James Burns

According to someone who was on Turn Back Time, it's only unlucky if the woman is wearing clothes. I think I see why this superstition is so popular.
This LPE most certainly doesn't feel more fresh or modern. It feels all old-fashioned. I mean really old-fashioned, as in 1600s or something. It also feels bigger. Hm.
