I stink at cutting out commercials. i always end up recording over like a couple seconds of the last scene. hehe. That happens because the VCR rewinds a few secs. Just press play during the commercial break, watch those last few seconds and then press stop once the scene is over. That's what I do. (I'm a bit obsessed)

but when you press stop, it rewinds a bit again......... and a stop usually rewinds further than pause.......

Whoa! You people know VCR talk! I've no idea what you're going on about. My VCR's start to play once you put a video in. You have to press record really fast, or press stop, then record just to be sure!

I have about 250 tapes that I've been collecting since the end of 1999. I record way too much..lol..I'm pretty good at cutting out commercials. My vcr doesn't rewind itself too much, so during the commericals, i just play the tape for a couple seconds and then its usually in the right place.
