I don't know Screaming Lord Sutch is, but if there really is a Raving Loony Party in Britain, I want to move there right now. Yes, there really is a Raving Loony Party in Britain...it's full name I think being the Monster Raving Loony Party. It's just a joke party that was set up by Screaming Lord Sutch (real name David Sutch) who unfortunately is no longer with us. He committed suicide in 1999 (his mother had died the year before.) He used to be a singer (he wasn't overly famous, though) and he once performed in the town where I live in the late 1960s. My Dad was walking down the street and he saw about three or four people chasing Screaming Lord Sutch down the road. Okay, I think that's about it for my off-topic contributions to this thread. As Mac pointed out, it is about good old Steve. And talking of him, does anyone remember his small appearance at the beginning of Dr Dolittle 2? That was one of the first things I thought of when I learned that he was dead.

Luckily, I never saw Dr Doolittle 2. Unfortunately, I did see Irwin's feature film "Collision Course". Normally, I like Steve's conservation work. But that was just a gross cash gluttany. Its kinda shameful, a stain on the reputation.

Luckily, I never saw Dr Doolittle 2. It was quite funny, actually (or I thought so.) Steve and Eddie Murphy, as Dr Dolittle, were in some kind of forest, and Steve was trying to get up close to a crocodile. Dr Dolittle heard the crocodile say that he was perfectly aware that Steve was there, and was planning to get him as soon as he was close enough. Dr Dolittle tried to warn Steve, saying, "Um, Steve, I think he knows we're here", but Steve wasn't listening. He proceeded with what he was doing, and the next thing you know, there's a scuffle, the sound of a bite, and Steve yells, "Oh, crikey, my arm!" It was something like that, anyway. I think I last saw the movie when I was about 12.

Would you like coffee with that, sir? ... oh yeah... sorry for the massive OT Now that the news has died down a bit and people aren't talking about him constantly... I still find it hard to beleive he's dead.

Would you like coffee with that, sir? Flash brewed double expresso latte with two cubes of cane sugar and fat free cream. And make it snappy, woman! Its no longer taking up the forefront of my mind, but Animal Planet insists on making little tribute commercials of him that constantly remind me. Its actually getting a little annoying now.

I read that the first time as "two CUPS of sugar" and was a little stunned.
Discovery Channel has one of those too. I won't even be thinking about it, and then I'll see the shot of him and his daughter, or him playing with the lion cub, and... I heard AP was going to show a marathon of his shows this week.

Just though this would be an interesting read. Plus, it goes with the topic.

I was ultimately very let down by the memorial service. It was far too campy. The whole thing felt like a poorly scripted clip show. The speakers had emotionally hollow speeches filled with bad puns that were nothing but introductions for the "memorial clips" (old Animal Planet commercials) or musical numbers. Laying flowers out to spell "Crikey"!? Pathetic and disgusting. Terri refused to speak for good reason. The only person who had any real saddness was his best friend Wes. He had no bad puns and genuine tears. The rest should be ashamed of themselves. And the host is an actor from the children's show "The Wiggles"?!

I haven't seen the memorial service myself, but I did read what his eight-year-old daughter said, and I thought she said some very nice things. I saw some pictures of his kids, and they look lovely. Mac, check out this link - for some reason, it won't come up properly when I type it in here, but if you type it into the Address bar, it should come up properly. I read it and liked it. www.news.com.au/dailytelegraph/story/0,22049,20424653-5009080,00.html

Here is a poem that I wrote myself last night:
Terri Irwin is so great On Sept. 4, 2006 she lost her soulmate. Terri gave Steve all of her love He is now looking down at her from up above.
Steve and Terri were made for each other They really loved one another. Steve and Terri should have been together Forever and ever and ever.
No words could ever express Her love for his tenderness. Whenever you saw them they both had smiles They both love crocodiles.
How many animals do they hate? Zero Steve is everyone's hero. To end this poem, I'll say good-bye But remember, Steve Irwin, is Terri's guy.

We're getting quite an epidemic of these "never-coming-back-but-returns-in-two-weeks" cases, aren't we?

We're getting quite an epidemic of these "never-coming-back-but-returns-in-two-weeks" cases, aren't we? She's not doing any harm. I think she's quite sweet, really, and it's nice that she's so fond of the people she admires. Keep being a Steve fan, Wesley Eure's Girl!
