[/li][li]In some areas it is believed to be bad luck to kill a mockingbird[/quote] Well, of course. Atticus Finch would attest to that. To Kill a Mockingbird... Okay, does anyone remember a show that used to be on (I think at the weekends) in the 1990s? I used to watch it when I was a kid and I can't remember the name of it. It was one of those kids' shows where a group of kids would have to go through various obstacles to find some sort of object (I can't remember once) and when they'd successfully done that, they'd get some sort of prize. I remember at times, it seemed quite dark and spooky to me, particularly at the point when one of the kids would have to face the challenge of getting past this scary figure dressed in a dark cloak. If I remember rightly, if they failed to do that, the kid would get placed in some sort of chamber, and the other members of the team would have to come along to rescue them. There was a show called Knightmare which sounds quite similar, but I'm sure this isn't the show I'm thinking of. I'm thinking this was probably shown on either BBC1, BBC2 or ITV.

Oooh, I remember watching a few repeats of Knightmare. Long ago, on lonely, insomical nights. ...It was a bit boring, to be honest. And the kids were always either annoyingly unintelligent, or annoyingly better than me.
What's the difference between the card games Twenty-One and Blackjack? If you said "nothing at all", CONGRATULATIONS — you're not a big fat smelly ugly loser. But some people seem to be insisting that the two are different games. And I can't play this not-Twenty-One version. What's up with all that then?

There are a couple of shows I remember loving as a kid, and I'd like to remember what they were called. Did anyone else watch Marlene Marlowe - you know, that female detective who must be one of the most stupid women in the world? She went around solving mysteries with her aunt? I remember one episode where the bad guy pushed her out of a windmill and she was forced to hang on to one of the sails and get swung around and around.

ICWP: I'm a huge fan of Mike Oldfield. Absolutely love all of his music. Well, most of it. Tubular Bells, I think, is rather naff. You're quite right - it's overrated. Mike Oldfield has so, so, so many good tracks (I can reccomend you loads, if you'd like), but, in my opinion, Tubular Bells isn't one of them. As for this LPE feeling different: the odd presence of the Grim Reaper is putting me off a little... Okay, does anyone remember a show that used to be on (I think at the weekends) in the 1990s? I described this not too long ago on this very board. 'Tis Penthouse, a CBBC show, that you are thinking of. I'll see if I can find any info on it...

'Tis Penthouse, a CBBC show, that you are thinking of. I'll see if I can find any info on it... Thank you! (Assuming we are indeed talking about the same show.) I probably haven't seen it since I was about 7 or 8. Oh, and ICWP, I think you're right - I think each LPE does have its own personality. This one is just developing. It's just come out of the womb, so to speak. Where is MC?

Anyone going to dress up for Halloween? Go a little trick-or-treating? Act like a little kid for the sake of tradition?

Today, 9th October 2006, is John Lennon's 66th birthday. A few months ago, there was a newspaper article with a photo depicting what John Lennon might look like if he was still alive, and an article stating the kinds of things he might be doing. It was written by Hunter Davies, who wrote the first proper Beatles biography, which was published in 1968, and which I read fairly frequently as a 12/13-year-old. Happy birthday, John.

i'll be 24 on tues. uhhhh horay for me i guess. Hurray for being old! Where's MirrorCard been lately? I haven't seen a post from him in quite a while. He probably died from an overdose of Boring. ;D As for this LPE feeling different: the odd presence of the Grim Reaper is putting me off a little... I'm glad to contribute to that. You sure its not Legend of the Hidden Temple? Did your show involve solving the 3 piece puzzle of the Shrine of the Monkey? I've done half of those unlucky things. And I have seen "Tooth and Claw". I believe the Halloween tradition on my campus is to get into costume (If you're a guy, dress like a girl. If you're a girl, dress like a slut and put on mouse ears), go to the Halloween party, get extremely drunk, and make out with a total stranger.

He probably died from an overdose of Boring. ;D Maybe that will entice MC back to make a rebuttal. I don't remember anything about a Shrine of the Monkey. Granted, I don't remember much about the show, since I haven't seen it for about eleven years. However, it was British show, and since Penthouse, according to Islander, was on CBBC, I'm assuming he's right.
