y did u call me annoyin .. hoo cares if i rite like that .. its juss slang and how i type .. its kinda offensive .. well i try and stop typin like that if u stop insultin me As much as I disapprove of members giving orders via PMs, I have to agree with TheKat that it is annoying to see someone type like that (so, to answer your question, the moderators care if you type like that). I refuse to believe that you learned to type like that anyway. Is that how you type when you turn in writing assignments for school? This is a forum, not a chatroom. Because of that, you have the ability to take time out and proofread what you have written. Blatant errors like "rite" for "write" should not be in your post. If you actually did not know how to spell "write," ProBoards is now equiped with a spell check. I encourage the use of a dictionary (in book form) though. If you do not believe that what you have writen is worthy of being proofread before posting, then it is probably best not posted at all. Others should not have to translate your English into English. It is especially worse for those here who do not speak English as their first language. Also, do not double post. The use of slang/netspeak and double posting is discussed in the FAQ. Read it, please. Ignoring this can result in warnings and deletion of your posts that violate the FAQ.
Wow, a second season even before the first has aired

Wow, a second season even before the first has aired i totally agree, i thought somebody put the wrong number or something. 2nd season? wows...what sucks though, is that disney shows only go up to a certain number of episodes, 60 something i think, 3 seasons though, i'm sure of that. that's really awesome that michael's show is doing well. congrats to him!

Since the series's production is based in Canada, Disney has no hand (at least I think so) in how many episodes it'll have, just whether or not to show it. But I agree -- a second season already approved and a small number of people just saw two episodes.

The network that has bought the show (in this case, Disney) has control over the amount of episodes they would like to order each season. Networks decide the amount of episodes, not production. Networks = very powerful

The network buys episodes not the show... they only have control over what they show - plus its not Disney that owns the rights its Astral Media (Family Channel)... it must have been due to sales outside Canada though because it hasn't even aired here... therefore I speculate that the show is bringing in the $$ in sales therefore its being commissioned for a new season... I think its funny when people are like "Networks = very powerful," oops I mean when MC does it because if you really look into it, newtworks are owned by companies an so they aren't the ultimate decision makers in the process, rather its up to the conglomerate... (but yuck I had enough of policy talk)... therefore don't reall have that much power at all edit: as you can see in the article, it lists where initial funding is coming from.... oh and I think it will be fair to say, audiences probably have a bit more power than the networks... vis à vis rating system of shows with scans and stuff.

Surely it would be somewhat of a power-play between audiences and networks. Sure, if a show gets good ratings, they keep it, if it doesn't, it goes... but people can't watch what isn't shown - they can only choose from the selection they're given. Say you buy a box of chocolates, you're free to eat the champagne truffle or you may want the strawberry fondant... but if you're after pralines and there's none in the box, you can't eat said pralines at said point in time. In other news: a dangerous mixture of sociology and lemsip and too much Black Books is addling my brains, ignore me.
I will say this though, the companies or networks or, I don't know, magical elves or whatever it is that has the final say on what ends up on TV, must be pretty confident about the show to buy it after only 2 eps have aired. Which is a good thing for the people involved in the show. Um... well done, people from Life with Dereck. Incedentally, I'm not sure whether I mentioned this before but I listened to the theme tune on that preview website thing. It cuts through my mind like lemon-dipped razor-wire. Ow. I don't know what the show is like, but the theme tune is grim ><

as far as i know Disney has no control whatsoever over the show just besides airing the eps but since Disney wants to be part of everything...

Disney is just a buyer of the episodes... not the show - and thats where the important copyright and stuff is.. though idk they may have some sort of legal interest in the show itself and therefore and exhibit it on their other channels... so ya, thats enough serious talk fo r ,e.. umm yea - my dad's company does media buying, boring law stuff but i love it, so it know a tad bit about stuf.. blah too much school.. talk - byessss

edit: as you can see in the article, it lists where initial funding is coming from.... oh and I think it will be fair to say, audiences probably have a bit more power than the networks... vis à vis rating system of shows with scans and stuff. The audience has the power to get a show cancelled (by not watching it). For the most part though, the rating systems, like the Nielsons, are broken and everyone knows it. I think its funny when people are like "Networks = very powerful," oops I mean when MC does it because if you really look into it, newtworks are owned by companies an so they aren't the ultimate decision makers in the process, rather its up to the conglomerate... (but yuck I had enough of policy talk)... therefore don't reall have that much power at all Well, if you want to get technical and confuse people, then yes. However, I'm sure most people here are not familiar with how that process of how the few major companies control the vast amount of networks and radio stations operates. my dad's company does media buying, boring law stuff but i love it, so it know a tad bit about stuf.. oh. when we went over it in Government, it was boring. It kind of put a damper on the whole "I can influence the network" when we realized that more powerful beings prevented our interference. I would like to know more about it though.
wow, that theme song disturbs me. I still want to see the show though

Ahh...the classic "parents-go-away-for-one-night-and-return-home-to-complete-chaos" episode. One of those is bound to pop up every now and then. Good twist on this one though.
The show's not bad at all, compared to some of the stuff Disney's been showing. But I guess people will always think the shows that they watched as a little kid are better then the ones kids watch now. *remembers Nick shows from the early 90's like Salute Your Shorts*
