Great question! I took two fiction classes at university with a Professor Schmidt who was a LOT like Z. He was very laid-back (he even wanted us to call him Geoff, not Professor or Mr.), usually wore jeans, was very knowledgable about the subject matter and he made it interesting. I also had a great music teacher named Mr. Sainer who was probably the best teacher I ever had in my life. Same thing; amazing musician, always happy and enthusiastic, interesting, and really made us feel like we could learn/sing/play anything. As for best science teacher, Mrs. Lowe in Jr. High.

[glow=blue,9,999]I never had any teachers like Z (science or otherwise), cause if I had I wouldn't have missed a day of school. I'm not talking looks-wise, although that would've been a plus, I'm talking about the way he teaches. He seems to have passion & energy, & none except for maybe my 7th grade history teacher had that passion or energy that he does.[/glow]

My A-Level English teacher was really fun and liked the cleverist students (since Z blatantly has favouritism towards his science club) and he was very witty, but he wasn't really like Z because he was so sarcastic and mean, which is what made him great. At university, loads of lecturers are laid back, funny and really clever in the Z style but I have to say I have never met any teacher, or indeed, any one, who was anything like Z in that kind/caring/understanding way. It's just not possible for someone to care that much about everybody and always have the moral lesson of the day on hand. Or do I just bring out the worst in people? Rebecca

I know this is an old thread..but I wanna comment. I had a science teacher in 7th grade who was very young and pretty much just a teenager. We got to learn science by smashing fruit with hammers, throwing water balloons, and he taught us about rocks by turning off all the lights, wearing a hooded robe, and pretending to be the God of rocks. He even lit his desk on fire during that just to set the mood. The only problem was...he was pretty much just a teenager. He would be a jerk sometimes and would play favorites.
My current English teacher seems to be almost completely Z. He is the only teacher at my school who wears a jacket and tie to work (along with sneakers and jeans for some reason) and he even has glasses (he kinda looks like Harry Potter in an odd way). You can tell that he truely loves what he's teaching, he would sometimes get so exciting he sort of reminded me of a little kid when we were reading Hamlet. He actually gives a crud about his students and listens to their problems, which is nice. He's also probably the funniest, most sarcastic teacher I've ever had and also the nicest. He's tough also though, he never just gives you the answer, he always makes you work for it. He makes you think in ways you usually wouldn't and challenges you to do better. Everyday he ends class by giving us our assignments and saying "Go forth and be brilliant." I adore him and must say he is the most Z-ish teacher I've come across in my 12 years as a student. We need more Z teachers

My current science teacher is sort of like Z in the way that she seems to know everything about everything. I guess she's not all that Zfull, but I like to pretend she is. Sometimes, I refer to her has "professor C." People just stare at me like I'm crazy...for some reason...

It's funny, the day after I wrote my post I went into class and this girl started referring to my English teacher as "Mr. G"

Right right, good topic idea. I have my very own Prof. Z! (well, hes currently studying for his Doctorate in British Literature, then hes going into University Teaching... so he will be a Prof. Z) I'm in high school and freshmen year (im a junior) I had Mr. Zemanek, what a revolutionary teacher. Basically take PRof Z and move his passion, talent, and just caring for people and everything and move it into an English setting, and you've got my teacher. Zman plus hes got Z's hair tee hee, gotta love it. aside from him, my school has a lot of really awesome, caring, passionate teachers. You just gotta know who they are so you can take their classes. It's really sweet.

I, too, had a "Z-ish" Science teacher. She was my 7th grade Biology teacher and she was extremely laid back. You could even say she was a student herself. She was always happy and never made you feel inferior because of age or academic abilities. She stuck up for her kids and always had something positive to say.
She was very bright and had worked at several prestigous medical centers around the States but she came back to teaching because she just loved the kids. She pretty much sparked my passion for Biology and the sciences. Honestly, if we had more teachers that are like Professor Z in that they truly have a passion for what they teach and don't make students feel like inferiors, maybe kids might actually enjoy learning. Who knows.

There are a few Z-ish teachers at my school. Two that I'm on really good terms with really remind me of him. I don't have them for class but I do know what great teachers they are. One is a history teacher; I wouldn't say he is Z during class but after school the man is insane. I mean...he tried using a hot dog shooter to blast himself down the hall on his spinny chair. He's a really caring and understanding guy too. If you just talk to him about your problems he'll try and work something out for you. I'm almost always in his class before and after school. He's very funny and random...really random. Oh, and like Z, he loves his coffee. ^_^
Another is a math teacher (who, again I don't have for class) Wow, most passionate teacher I've met in while. He is REALLY young, just turned 25 and I think he cares more about his first time students than some of the teachers that have been here for years. He really knows his stuff and is always ready to help. He gives me help on my homework and he's not even my teacher. (He also gives me extra homework...heh.) He's always hanging out with his students after school too playing ultimate frisbee or doing karaoke at the pizza place. Now, I'm not saying that older teachers aren't good at what they're doing but I think the fact that both of these guys are younger that they have more of an influence on the students. They're really great people and I'm sure if there was a wormhole in our school they would be the first ones to help our non-existant science club. XD
Oh, and they ARE quite nice to look at too even if they don't have amazing Z hair.

I often daydream in science class about my teacher getting sucked into a wormhole and Z popping out in his place. That would be so cool. I would be the only one with even a vague idea of what was going on.

i had a Z-ish teacher in 4th grade. i went to a smart people prep school, there were only 7 people in my class. she was kinda Z-ish in the way that she was more like a friend then a teacher. she would throw squishy apples at us and she was like a sister. kinda like Z is a brother to Josie. Ive also had an extreamly good looking math teacher but nowhere close to Mr.Douglas .

I had a Z-ish teacher too. She was my English teacher in secondary school. She knows anything about everything in English, and always could help me and other pupils. And now she is my friend, and will be forever. What a pity, that I hadn`t Z-ish science teacher
