Besides which (and this is a very flawed theory, much like everything about me) characters that tend to take their glasses off and gesture with them tend to be played by actors who do not really wear glasses. When you really wear them you tend to leave them on your face so you can see things. When used along with hand movements and pointing and chewing and thinking movements, this seems to be the actor excited to have a whole new 'prop' to work with. My example is the character Giles in Buffy. He was always gesturing with his glasses and Anthony Head, the actor, does not wear them in real life.
Therefore, I conclude that Jeff Douglas does not wear glasses in real life.
Now let him tell us...

yes, I agree.
Jeff, please tell us if you wear glasses or if they're a Z prop.I haven't really seen Jeff in anything but BHH, so that's why I'm at a loss, and wanted to know. whichever it is, Jeff looks good in glasses. *nods*

He didn't have them in The Famous Jett Jackson that I can remember though it's been a while. He may've had them in the episode where Cubby went back to school cause I think he hadn't received his High School Diploma. I also can't remember if he wore glasses in the episode of Missing where he turned out to be a dirty cop, but he did have a mustache. I like him better without the mustache. Cause it just isn't right to hide that pretty face. [/glow]

We shall call it "The Law of JoyFital: An actor with glasses does not wear glasses in real life if he or she is constently playing with them (chewing, waving, etc) on the show." Jeff, please tell us if you wear glasses or if they're a Z prop. well, we know in Chirality that he has 2 or 3 different pairs of glasses, each one stricter-appearing than the last.

That's just typical, isn't it? I come up with my own theory and I'm the one who disproves it by giving an inaccurate example. Okay, I stand by my theory, just because I like it. But I apologise for spouting gibberish. Revised theory: Actors who gesture with glasses probably don't wear them constantly in real life because when one needs glasses to see, one generally keeps them on one's face. So, if not needed to see in real life: Glasses can be used as handy little props that are always there in acting (or even metaphors in writing because a character can take them off when being, say idealistic, because the world becomes fuzzy and the character can no longer see true events and can fabricate them) If it were possible to take our eye-balls out I don't think people would because suddenly not being able to see is very stressful/scary. Therefore, I stick by my theory and really, really wished I hadn't given an example, because I should just have known it would be wrong. I'm always right, but I always fail. Besides, everyone knows clever people wear glasses right? Television law, isn't it? Hmmm...

well, we know in Chirality that he has 2 or 3 different pairs of glasses, each one stricter-appearing than the last. and that helps how? hmmm...based on that, then the Janitor must be a real meanie. double hmmm...then if we apply that to Z's hair becoming more and more plastered, then *where was this going?* then...then, maybe that wasn't real hair either... *hehe* nevermind...That's just typical, isn't it? Besides, everyone knows clever people wear glasses right? Television law, isn't it? Hmmm... I didn't see anything wrong with your original theory. basically, if you can't see the glasses tend to stay with the need. wonder if anyone ever says "I don't need glasses, my nose just wanted a buddy."? ;Dand yes, they always use glasses for the brain factor in the entertainment field. they seem to think "put glasses on anyone and they'll suddenly appear intelligent", doesn't exactly work on Pam Anderson and Jessica Simpson though , and some others either. *just for MC* remember in Hemispheres, Vaughn wore glasses, and Lucas and Z didn't. *thinks* *hehe* and then the maligned usage of glasses in the not nice way that shouldn't be allowed. it's not funny to me and I don't even wear glasses, not even sunglasses. my nose enjoys being naturally bare.maybe Jeff will tell us sometime and then we'll know for sure. *nods*

Besides, everyone knows clever people wear glasses right? Television law, isn't it? Hmmm... Detective Goren doesn't wear glasses. Anyway, doesn't Giles normally only take his glasses off to clean them. "So whats why you do that, so you won't have to see us?!" "Tell no one."
