Didnt Jeff answer it a really long time ago, in addition to his Who song? Not so sure about that but I'll go digging for that answer and see if it gets mntioned. Menack makes a good point though - I think they might get in a little bit of trouble if they used somebody's song as 'the worst sound they could think of'. to avoid any hassle, it would be easier if they had the music man write a cheesy ballad himself - so it's their awful song and they can insult it all they want. As for people who've heard it somewhere else: surely, most boyband ballads sound the same anyway?

I'm almost sure I read somewhere that it wasn't a real song...I think that if you google the song lyrics you go to a yahoo group page where it says that it's not real..I'm not sure though...

the song sounded like it was either sung by Jeff Douglas, Mike Seater and Noah Reid themselves, but it also sounds like 98 Degrees sung it too.

This ep was so darn funny I walked out the room to get a glass of water came back and they were singing. I dropped my glass and made a huge mess but it was worth it for the many hours of sitting on a bus the next day laughing to myself. *Sqweee* Me loves dis episode (gotta love musicals)

hey I found the words to this song after many hours of grueling search engines and terrible translation site but I have finally got the lyrics.
The Sponge Song Hey, hey... Hoo-ooh...ooh-hoo...
I can't live without you Baby, you're the one I just want you to know Every night and day, I think about you Stay forever mine 'Cause I can't let you go
Ever since I met you My life's never been the same My heart skips a beat I can't stay on my feet My head is spinning around And 'round and 'round
I can't live without you Baby, you're the one I just want you to know
{They stop because Corrine and Josie talk}
Z says: two-three-four!!
I can't live without you Baby, you're the one I just want you to know Every night and day, I think about you... Stay forever mine 'Cause I can't let you go...(fades)

[glow=blue,9,999] It's definately them singing to the song, but it's someone different that's singing the song from the CD. It's like when you sing while listening to your favorite song.[/glow]

The episode is called Ecosystem. I taped it and watche it over and over and over again. It's so funny, but I can only hear "Lucas" singing and I can barely hear the other 2.

Er, I just joined today, for people who are wondering who I am....
But anyways, all I mainly hear is Lucas' voice too. Also, what I thought what they meant by the worst sound ever was them singing to a song, not the song itself. So I figured they just picked a song they couldn't sing, and sang to it. I could be wrong, but I just thought that was supposed to be the funny part when they resolve that the worst sound ever was them singing.

no, the joke was that "boy band" type music is terrible.

Why were they singing then? @.@ [glow=blue,9,999] Maybe they were trying to make it sound more horrible than it already did, or maybe after listening to it so many times they started to like it. Like sometimes I'll hear a song that I totally hate, then after hearing it so many times I'll start singing to it. The funniest part about the whole thing is that after all the sponges were gone they were still singing the song so I think the song kind of grew on them.[/glow]

Yeah, I know, I hate that! I'll totally hate a song, but I'll know it by heart. Funny thing is after I learn it, it's not so bad... I think I agree with you, they were trying to make it sound worse. I feel kind of sorry for them, they thought they were the ones making the sponges go away XD

Why were they singing then? @.@ karaoke sounds terrible. make a bad song worse by karaoking it. they thought bad sounds would make the sponges dissapear faster. but they kept going because it made the girls laugh and they're hopeless flirts.
