The Master and Margarita is a great book. Not sure about his view of religion, I like his view of life. I wonder what happened to me this week. On Monday I wanted very much to read the Bible, but didn't have time for reading until Saturday. On Saturday I read Lolita instead of Bible.

Yes, I started to read the Bible but found it to be more of a History book than anything.

Yes i agree with you British Home Stories. His view of religion is based on his cultural origens. I so want to read Lolita. I think reading Lolita is better than reading the bible lol.

I recently finished 'The Blue Girl' by Charles De Lint. It was about, well I can't explain it exactly. There are these mean spirited faeries who unintentionally release these shadow creatures on this girl and they try to steal her soul. Theres a lot more to it than that, but I liked it partially because I can relate to the characters.

I am currently reading The Soddit. It has some stupid humour in it but is also intelligent. It is a praody of the Hobbit but that dosent matter. I have only read the first few chapters of the Hobbit but you dont need to know anything to apreciate the comedy. (Only the chapter names). I think ICWP would like it as it is pedantic. I've heard of it. 'Twas written by the same author as The Va Dinci Cod. You should give that one a try. Cod also is pedantic. EDIT: I myself have finally started Nineteen Eighty Four. I'm relieved that Orwell has actually bothered with a good plot, rather than just shot off a novelty book.

Jesi: yes, that's the less interesting new style of cover. I like the bright ones more. I actually don't much like the style of the art (it's very... nobbly? if that makes sense?) but because that's how most of the discworld books on my shelf look I associate it with the fun and joy brought into my life by Discworld. The Paul kidby covers are great too (because he's so spot on with the characters) and I'm glad he was chosen to take over when Josh Kirby died... but the new editions for the olde books are a bit generic looking - they don't grab you quite as much. I wish Paul Kidby would do the covers of the old books... but then again that would be one hell of a workload...
