We've had threads on artists we're fans of before - this is slightly different, in that here we list groups/songs that we recommend to other people. Similar, but not exactly the same.
Okay, to get my obvious recommendations out of the way (Beatles, Bee Gees, Beach Boys, Buddy Holly) - here are some songs that I recommend. Actually, there are loads, this post is probably just a first installment.
Do It Again - Steely Dan (the Beach Boys did a song of this name, but it isn't the same one.)
For What It's Worth - Buffalo Springfield
American Pie - Don McLean
Vincent - Don McLean
September - Earth, Wind and Fire
Sweet Child O' Mine - Guns' N' Roses
Piano Man - Billy Joel
Big Shot - Billy Joel
Horse With No Name - America
Tin Man - America
Scarborough Fair - Simon and Garfunkel
America - Simon and Garfunkel
Fire and Rain - James Taylor
Born in the USA - Bruce Springsteen

Oh, I wonder who I might be suggesting in this thread then. I know more or less no music at all, beside Bowie's. Anyway, I'm going to try to keep him out of this post, just because. Erm... by Billy Joel: She's Always a Woman and This is the Time. And my mind is fighting over whether to suggest We Didn't Start the Fire, but it's there now, so there. Bob Dylan: Like a Rolling Stone and Mr Tambourine Man. And, as a seperate entity to Simon and Garfunkle, I've only heard one Paul Simon song, You Can Call Me Al, but it's just brillo.
EDIT: Oh, and Rod Stewart's Handbags and Gladrags. Or, as it's more commonly known: "The one off The Office". And Maggie May. Same artist.

Oh, I wonder who I might be suggesting in this thread then. I know more or less no music at all, beside Bowie's. Why don't you broaden your horizons, ICWP? I mean, I love the Bee Gees, and quite often probably seem to be quite fixated on them, but I listen to other stuff a lot as well. I think David Bowie is really good - my favourite song of his is Young American - but there are other people out there who you'll probably find are just as good. Anyway, to give some more recommendations: Any disco song from the 1970s and 1980s - such as That's The Way by KC and the Sunshine Band, Get Down On It by Kool and the Gang, Ain't No Stopping Us Now by McFadden and Whitehead...oh, there are countless disco songs. Number Nine Dream - John Lennon Ventura Highway - America Muskrat Love - America Bennie and the Jets - Elton John Your Song - Elton John Don't Go Breaking My Heart - Elton John and Kiki Dee Rubber Bullets - 10cc A Boy Named Sue - Johnny Cash (the very song title should attact interest!)

I can recommend people? Well then, I recommend Zach Braff, he seems like a cool guy, not to mention his superb acting. I also recommend Jessica Alba because she's just oh so sexy.

Why would I recommend you to yourself? I assumed you'd know of you by now. Yes...but...you could have said a few words...just to let me know I'm loved... Anyway...some more songs: Dani California - The Red Hot Chili Peppers - a lot of new music I can't get into, but I like this one. You know, it's the new one that goes, "Getting born in the state of Mississippi, Poppa was a copper and Momma was a hippy..." Why Wait from Belinda is actually from a singer on The Cheetah Girls 2, that was her first english-speaking movie.
I'm a fan of Kelly Clarkson, I like a lot of her songs, but I haven't heard anything new from her in a LONG time.
