Here's the response thread, where you can tell me how awful it was. Hopefully it wasn't too bad. I tried to remain true to what I thought were the characters' personalities.

I've just read your fic (instead of revising :s) and it's really sweet. Not bad for a person who's only seen one ep a long time ago. Bless totallyindenial!Lucas ^^ Oh and even though this is OT, I thought you'd be interested to know that there's evidence in the show that Victor is a Beegees fan. In Inquiry, there's a scene in young Victor's bedroom circa 1977 - he has a Beegees LP!

That was - in a word - weird.
(First person to say "Everybody's a critic" gets it. Got it?)

That was - in a word - weird. In what way was it weird?

No.
As for you Gideon- Yay! Someone who can write! I thought this was excellent for a first effort, especially for someone who hasn't seen much of the show. I'm not sure I buy Vaughn being a Carpenters fan, but it's still a cute idea. Everyone has one or two CD's in their collection that they don't want anyone to see, right? Maybe his dad likes them too, and it's his way of trying to feel closer to his dad...anyway...
I did think some of the sentences went on a bit long though. Sometimes the characters sounded more like, well, like you when you post here than Vaughn and Lucas. But like I said, you've hardly even seen the show, and for the most part it was pretty in-character. I can totally see Vaughn apologizing to Lucas (and to the rest of the club) for how he was a jerk in the begining. And Lucas kind of laughing off the idea of being with Josie was funny. Overall, very enjoyable. Good work!

Thanks for the comments, 88Keys. I can see what you mean about the characters sometimes sounding a bit like me; I tend to write that way sometimes, even with fictional characters - I tend to forget that it's not me who's speaking.
I thought I'd have Lucas dismissing the idea of Josie and him ever being a couple as a bit of irony, as at that point in the series, I believe there wasn't really an inking that he liked Josie - as far as I know, he didn't start to like her until Brainwaves. So I thought that the idea, then, that he and Josie could possibly have a relationship would seem ludicrous and impossible to him, and he'd instantly say that he'd never feel that way about Josie. Of course, we know better.
