I'm supposed to wear glasses but what had happened was one of the lenses fell out at school so I put it in my pencil case(don't usually remember actuall glasses case, not a 7:00 am type person). Being the stupid person that I am I left it in one class and nevr saw them since. My mom was waaay po'd about that specially now that the school years over.

See that little lable under your name? That's a warning for excavation. This thread hasn't been psoted in for the past TWO YEARS, so why the hell did you dig it up?
Carry on like this, and you'll be getting a nice little present - a suspension.

I'm not quite sure this would count as excavation, though...better to dig this one up than to create a new one, and she did add something more than 'lol' or 'ur right'...I guess it's the mods call, though.

Menack's right. Excavation is a bit of a grey area. We don't want threads to be ressurected for no good reason but we don't want multiple threads discussing the same topic either. If I were a mod wouldn't penalise bri73 for her post.
Besides, that warning label is out of date. If the fact that a warning label is displayed under a member's username affects said member's punishment then bri73's should be ignored regardless of whether the mods decide she's broken the rules or not.

I see what you're saying (not you, Adam, I rarely see what you're saying !), but consider this: This thread is over two years old. Do you really think that bri73 thought "hmm, I want to psot about my glasses. Best search to see if there's a suitable thread"? Of course not. She's been delving in the archives (all well and good) and thinking "hmm, I can post here, and here...". Now, if this was a little more recent, i.e. withint he last six months, all well and good, but two years?!? Nah ah. Excavation. When a thread is two years old, a new one needs creating, else it's obvious it was excavated.

Well, the mods have said that the duplicate thread rule holds priority over the excavation one. I say we just try to get back on topic. Erm... I have a retainer, called Robbie. I often talk to him when I'm lonely. He comforts me when my pickled onion jars will not open.

I'm supposed to wear a retainer 24/7 (except when I eat & brush my teeth), but I can't talk in it properly, so I loathe my retainer, and I only wear it at night.

Here's the skinny:
I have recently started wearing glasses for long distance.
I may have to have a brace in the future as I have two many teeth and they are over crouding my mouth and pushing others wonky. (That is why I had teeth removed)

You know, Adam, for a minute there, I thought you said: "I might have to have a brace from the future." I thought Doc Brown was going to show up in his DeLorean and whisk you into the future. As long as we're keeping the thread, I may as well add that I wore glasses from the age of 8 to 15.

I wore a retainer and braces (not at the same time, you silly) from 7th to 9th grade.

I've worn glasses since the beginning of year 4 (9 years old) until now. That's half my life ;D.
I'll continue to wear them for a while yet, as I hate the thought of contacts, and I still think laser eye surgery is a little dodgy.

A search would have brought up this thread, despite its age. I don't see how it is bad excavation. I'll see what HailStorm or FoolNoMore thought.

Well, seeing as she's excavated a whole bunch of really old threads, I gave her a warning last night.

Contacts are the shizzle. Get with the times, Islander.
I wore glasses begining in the fourth or fifth grade (still remember how sharp and clear everything was on the way home from the doctor; it was amazing). They had green frames and were HUGE. Got contacts in sixth grade, went back to glasses in seventh (smaller ones, thankfully), and have stuck with contacts since the eighth grade or so. I wear my glasses before bed or in the morning sometimes. The same glasses I've had since I was 13...REALLY need some new ones.

Ive worn contacts since 1st grade. I just got braces last July... so its been a year now. I get them off near December? Im so used to contacts I forget what it was like to wake up and see clearly. Ive gotten pretty quick and talented at putting them in also. I have a pair of glasses but I only wear them when I get up in the middle of the night or something. They give me a headache and make my eyes itch.
