Hey, guys! I know that Jim mentioned this show but have you guys seen the commercial for it on Discovery Kids? It's called Flight 29 Down. It's about these kids who get lost because of a plane accident and they have to learn to live with each other and deal with things that a lot of teens go through. All of the characters are 16 except for one of the girls' stepbrother who is really smart and only 10 years old. There are seven kids in total... well, so far (that I see) but it says ten on the description, so, I'm not sure. Well, here's a link to the show's site on discoverykids.com. The link to it is: kids.discovery.com/fansites/29down/29down.htmlThe show looks a lot of fun and I can't wait to see it. There's all sorts of cool info on the site and some of it is still being made but there's info on the characters. A lot of you guys might like Jackson or maybe Eric or maybe Nathan. Oh by the way, did you notice that Jackson was in that Disney movie not long ago? The one about the magician contest for teens? He was the main character. I'm not sure what his real name is, though, because I forgot it. It comes on Discovery NBC for the first time on Saturday (October 1st, 2005). They will probably show that episode again (and every episode after it) on Discovery Kids, Monday night, at 8:00 p.m. That's what they used to do with BHH when it was on NBC on Saturdays and they still do that for the other shows that come on NBC that is tied with Discovery Kids. I'm not sure at what time it will come on NBC because it doesn't say and I'm also not sure which show it will replace, either. By the way, do you guys know if the three episodes for Strange Days will be on NBC? Did Jim mention anything about that? I kind of forgot. And another thing I forgot... is Jim working on this show as an assistant director or producer or one of the writers or something? I know that he said he was doing something for this show but I don't know exactly what. Could someone please let me know? I hope it's not too much trouble... I'm sorry if it is. So, are you guys interested in watching this show? I think that the high school drama stuff is still there and perhaps... it's more intense than Blake Holsey High's was because there are more kids and this time, I don't think there are any adults. The story is also different, too. I'm not exactly sure but the show is still for kids. It looked pretty fun. I am not sure, though, where it will come on for other countries. I wish I could help but maybe you guys already heard something? I'm sure you'll get it. I hope you do. Well, hope this helped. I guess we can talk about the show here especially once it airs (not long from now) because I know that a lot of people would be wanting to talk about it then. Or maybe someone will make a forum for this show, too. Lol but either way, it's good. :-)

They show previews for this on NBC Saturday mornings. Well, it doesn't really show anything; you just see the title and hear voices talking. Seems like Lost for kids, but I'm intruiged and will probably check it out.

Yeah, me too... it sounded cool. All I saw was the clip with voices thing but it was pretty cool and it's interesting. I guess it is kind of like, "Lost" for kids. It should be really good, I think. Thanks for replying to my post. Means a lot! :-)
By the way, did you go check out the site that I posted in my first post?

Yeah, I know what you mean about really good shows ending or having already ended. I think this show will be great, too, and I just saw another more detailed clip of the show and it was pretty cool. It was a pretty short one but it showed all the troubles they go through (fire, cliffs, water, and stuff like that). It also showed the scene where they are in the plane before it goes down and it was narrated by the guy in the show (the guy who's really quiet and has black hair... he was also in the Disney movie recently as the main character). You're right, it probably is a lot like Lost. I haven't seen much of Lost but I know what it is because I saw some of it. Is it still doing or did it already end? I love taking personality quizzes, too, and I think this quiz will be a lot of fun. It will be cool to see who we are like the most before the show starts because that way, we can get to know the characters a little bit better. I can't wait for it! And I definitely can't wait for the three BHH episodes. Flight 29 Down starts October 3rd on Saturday at NBC and it will replay on Monday night (during 8-10:00 p.m.) on Discovery Kids. I'm not sure the time, though. And also, today is the premiere episode of "Life with Derek" on disney channel and I think that will be really good and funny. Is anyone else going to watch it?

Has anyone watched this show? Seems like everyone thought it was going to be a kiddie version of Lost (Like Endurance to Survivor) but it really isn't. BHH has more in common with Buffy than Flight 29 Down does with Lost.
Anyway, I've seen the first two episodes. The show does not strike me as exceptionally good, like BHH did, but kind of ordinary like City Guys. The one girl, Taylor, drives me up a wall. She is so fake. I like Nathan and Mel.
I'm going to follow the show a little longer, hope it gets better. I was on the tv.com guide but it is so barren - more barren than when I started editing the BHH guide at tvtome (you should have seen it before I got to it). I was trying to add the new episodes but I don't see the option to do so. tv.com is so un-user-friendly.
Thanks Kaytee for pointing out this thread. I thought we only talked about it in one of Jim's threads.

I've seen it. Taylor drives me crazy as well. I don't think the show is as good as I thought, but I'll continue to watch it. I too like Mel and Nathan. Daley bothers me a bit, but not as much as Taylor, she seems to kind of be like Shannon from Lost, though on Lost Shannon is my favorite, lol, at elast Shannon now understands what's going on, hopefully Taylor will get a clue soon as well.

I watched it while eating lunch. It was really good. Althought the stranded on an island is cliched the creators made it like new! Good twists and all.

It is not a copy of Lost. The two shows really don't have anything in common except that they feature plane crashes. Lost deals with the pasts of the characters and the "skeletons in the closet" of the characters, as well as character flaws, and forces the characters to face those and improve themselves. Flight 29 Down does nothing like that. It is basically 10 kids stranded on an island. It's really more like a kiddie version of Gilligan's Island. As I said before, Buffy and Black Hole High have more in common than Lost and Flight 29 Down. To answer your question though, the sand softens the impact. A lot of the injuries suffered in the crash featured on Lost occurred while the plane was in the air by loose luggage and other "debris," not when the plane actually crashed. The crash in Flight 29 Down did not have this luggage danger. While the scene where the plane crashes appears to be somewhat violent, the sand softens the crash a lot.

I've seen bits and pieces. What comes to my mind is lost but the whole stuck in island thingy seems too typical. If flight 29 down was like Lord of the flies then i'll watch it more. I dont know its just not my cup of tea.

I just watched this show for the first time today... it was the episode where they choose their leader... I don't have any idea how far into the show this episode is or what-not. LOL I'd seen commercials and thought the same thing some of you did - "rip-off of 'Lost'!" I thought some of the acting was kind of bad and the plot was a bit weak in places, but I put it in my event book in my cell phone so I'll remember to watch it again next week. Some of the characters I did like. The red-haired girl, the "little" boy and the guy they chose as their leader were ok.
