Lol. It just that it doesn't make sense. When he was Vaughn, she was eager to kiss him but when he was Lucas, she was annoyed. There's just no question for me. Friends are friends. Soulmates are soulmates. Lol, too corny!!!!

I did love the scene when it finally dawned on Josie and Vaughn that they'd be kissing eachother (the whole lip gloss thing. priceless). And the Romeo and Juliet scene after that was amazing. And I don't think it was corny exactly, just romantic (though I probably shouldn't say anything. I'm an utterly hopeless romantic. I pretty much live for that kind of stuff)

I meant that the word "soulmates" sounds a little corny to me, the episode...not that much but yeah, the lipstick thing was priceless.

I was slightly irked at the choice of Romeo and Juliet - hello, teen show cliche much - for the 'romantic play reading bit. That said, they did the Blushing Pilgrims part rather than the Balcony Scene, lowering the strength of the cliche. But I guess some vague parallels could be drawn between J/V and Romeo and Juliet (the whole star cross'd, feuding families vibe). I just don't think Romeo and Juliet is very romantic - I tend to see it as showing more the intensity of teenage emotions on any matter, more of a feeling of futility and tragedy and frustration than one of OMG teh LURVE. I'd have LOVED them to have done a scene from Othello - that would have been fantastic tying into the Lucas/Vaughn problem (essentially being about jealousy, hatred - the envious Iago (lucas) trying to bring about the downfall of the sucessful Othello (Vaughn) by messing up his relationship with Desdemona (Josie, I suppose) the characters aren't that similar and the similarities are very shallow but at least it's not Romeo and Juliet)

They wanted something the audience would know what they were talking about. And that means they pretty much had to do Romeo and Juliet. Kids dont know about the other Shakespeare plays.

They'd know more if they actually mentioned plays other that Romeo and Juliet Kids tend to only know of Romeo and Juliet through watching TV until they study it in school. Which is a real shame because Shakespear has done much better plays. Like Macbeth, for example. Kids would love that - very bloody, vengeful with evil witchcraft and final justice. But I suppose some of the speeches for it are a bit strong for kiddies TV

Though the choice of Romeo and Juliet is a trite choice of material, it would have been much cornier had they used the balcony scene. And I don't know how much fueding their families have actually done, as Kelly is stated to have worked (and did work in Wormhole2) with Victor.

I am! As much as I think that Lucas needs a little attention seeing as there is Marshall and Corrine and Vaughn and Josie having feelings for eachother, I just think that vaughn and Josie have a lot in comon.
