Having only recently become interested in the show, and only ever seeing about 3/4 of one episode (and that was 10 months ago), there's still a lot of things I don't know about the show. Thanks to the Internet, I've been able to find out a lot, though.
I've read that in season three of "Strange Days..." there is a love triangle between Vaughn, Josie and Lucas, and subsequently, Lucas, for the main part of the season, tries to prove that Vaughn is untrustworthy, until the episode "Hologram" where he apparently has a change of heart.
I was just curious to know, what was Lucas's relationship with Vaughn was like before the writers started exploring the idea of romance between Josie and Vaughn? Were they reasonably good friends until that point? I'm also curious about Vaughn's reaction to Lucas's distrust of him - in season three, was Vaughn mad at Lucas, or did he attempt to be friendly to him in hopes of remaining on good terms?
I'm sorry about all these questions...but as I said, I haven't had a chance to see any of the episodes, apart from the one I saw when I happened to be in America.

Vaughn remained friendly, and they were relatively friendly before the love triangle started in Brainwaves.

Lucas was always nice to Vaughn until Stopwatch. Then he became a freak pointing out every little mistake or downside of Vaughn

Thanks for the answers, guys. I wondered whether there was any antagonism between them previously, or if it all began with the love triangle, now I know.
I guess I can understand Lucas's behaviour on some sort of level...there is the fact that Vaughn is Victor's son, although Lucas's desire to prove that Vaughn is untrustworthy seems to stem more from jealousy that he's got Josie than anything else. I don't agree with it, although I must admit I've got a bit of a soft spot for Lucas. I've always been friendly with boys who wear glasses (no idea why, though) and there are some similarities to our personalities (we're both a bit weird, we both get obsessive over things, etc.)
As I mentioned in my first post in this thread, though, I did read that Lucas's opinion of Vaughn seemed to change somewhat in "Hologram." If there is a fourth season (fingers crossed that there will be!) would it be too presumptuous to expect that Lucas may have got over his "we can't trust Vaughn" thing and be more friendly towards him?

Don't forget that no one of them really liked or trusted him until Storm either. He was a bully.

Yup, Gouki's right. Anybody remember Vaughn harassing Lucas in Wormhole? Vaughn used to pick on Lucas but stopped when he was made to join the science club. I'd say their relationship was probably a little chilly at first but they got on okay after Storm right up until the love triangle surfaced. I'd say that Lucas's behaviour is mostly down to jealousy but he rationalises it with paranoia and mistrust and it isn't helped by the fact that Vaughn used to bully him. (I'm suce the guy who used to bully you getting lots of attention from the girl you like is pretty devastating). We can only hope that Hologram means that Lucas will have mostly moved past the jealousy if there is a season 4.

Ah, I see now. I'd read that there was an element of distrust of Vaughn from the rest of the Science Club in the first season, until the "Storm" episode, but didn't realise that he used to pick on Lucas a bit. It's actually quite surprising that Lucas was friends with him for a time at all, really, considering that I think most kids would find it hard to become friendly with someone who used to bully them. Then again, since they were in the same club and inevitably saw a lot of each other, I guess they put all that aside...until the love triangle, obviously.
Gouki, are you the same Gouki who posts on the "Malcolm in the Middle" forums? If so, I'm newcomer Doc Brown on those forums.

Don't forget that no one of them really liked or trusted him until Storm either. He was a bully. I don't know if I'll call it a bully tough. I think he was more like the popular, rich, athlete, cool kid that makes fun of geeks like Lucas (I don't think he's actually that nerdy now but he seemed like that on the first chapters). Still, they weren't what you'd call "friends"
