I just watched a rerun of Chemistry. Did anyone notice the way Corrine helped prepare Marshall for the audition? She isn't supposed to be so fashion-savvy... is she?

Physically acosting Marshall, and tearing his clothes isn't very "fashion-savvy". It's rude.

I guess she's his best female friend, girls supposedly know more about fashion than boys (although clearly that doesn't apply to me :s) so she's the person he's most likely to ask for help. And who knows, if Corrine is really an uber-scary stalker lady beyond even what some of use joke about her being, she may have gone through Marshall's CD collection, googled the bands he likes to see how the musicians and their fans dress and so get an idea of what's considered stylish and cool by guys like Magnet360. Personally I think he'd have been better asking Josie, who seems to be into her own idom of dressing and knows more about rock and the fans thereof than Corrine. Chalk it up to the contrived nature of C/M scenes. It was put in there to kickstart the C/M ship, it seems (AWWW OMG she tries his hair stuff etc. etc.) and C/M scenes care less about making sense for the characters as we know them than they do about shoehorning in the stalkerism squee-for-the-fangirls.

Yeah, also, besides the fact that Marshall didn't look all that gret in Corrine's "expertise" clothes choice... she wore MC Hammer pants. I'm sorry, but I don't care which reality you're from. That makes you instantly not fashion savvy.

HailStorm really said it best though, in her last paragraph: like omgz, like corrin ripping into marsall's shirt is so totally hawtttt!11!!1! ewww, I practically made myself vomit writing that. In a way, I'm surprised the character helping Marshall wasn't Josie or Vaughn. You know, I've forgotten a lot of stuff from that episode, and I'm always confusing it with Equation. How many characters knew that Marshall had a brother?

3 characters knew. Marshall, Z, and Durst. And for the record, the concept of this thread actually came from 1 specific quote from Corrine more than the rest. It is "Nobody just wears a T-shirt anymore, Marshall." Anyone who can say that must consider his or herself fashion-savvy.

Well, I don't really know. I guess you don't have to be the queen of all things cutting edge to notice clothing trends and things that are fashionable in other groups, but I agree with Middleton in that Corrine doesn't seem to be the type to follow fashion. You can't imagine her caring about what is fashionable and what isn't, and you can imagine her thinking a lot of fashion is silly (I can't imagine her being impressed with gyus wearing pants so low that their underwear hangs out). She seems quite pragmatic in her own clothing choices (with the exception of the silly MC Hammer pants in Hemispheres, but alternate universe, style advise from alternate versions of her friends), chosing comfortable looking clothes that aren't super-fashionable, but nor are they so unstylish as to be painful... well, except for maybe that period when she just seemed to wear tracksuity things... I'm thinking like her outfit in Tesseract, that is a good example of Corrine's taste in clothes I'd say. Anyway, I think it would have made a bit more sense if it was Josie giving the advise and ripping the shirt, but hey ho, what can you do?

Anyway, I think it would have made a bit more sense if it was Josie giving the advise and ripping the shirt, I can definitely see Josie ripping the shirt. But I can also see Vaughn intervening if he was near by . So, J/V may have presented a situation where it wouldn't be appropriate for Josie to be in Marshall's room and ripping Marshall's shirt off him. I also suppose it would be outside the realms of subtext to have Lucas do it

Don't forget him almost taking his shirt off, but then getting all shy...awww, how sweet...
I think her style is kind of hard to understand. Just based on what we know of her character, I would think she would be the type that was more concerened with studying than with clothes (t-shirt and jeans type). Then again, her perfectionistic ways might give her a desire to look presentable at all times. I think the tracksuits make her look dumpy and awful (then again I'm biased because I don't like them on anybody, period). And the Hemispheres outfit...(shudder)...there are no words for how horrible that looked. But then again, I really liked her outfit in Tesseract, and at the end of Conclusions. So maybe it's more the fault of a spastic costuming department than Corinne herself.
Middleton, if you have something to say, why don't you just come out and say it?

Does he? Hehehe I imagine that Vulcans have little use for the passing whims of fashion... or something like that (How shocking would it be if MC is the board's official vulcan half the time, and the rest of the time he's the fashion editor of a local magazine... whenever he's giving somebody a warning or a banning, he's clicking the appropriate things with one hand, leafing through Vogue with the other)

That may be the funniest thing ever posted on the Shadia Simmons board.

I missed that post (must had been one of the ones I skipped). That was really funny; I'm not sure how to reply to that. I nominate that for the wall of fame
