i'm sure all of you have noticed how marshall is now the lead singer of magnet 360 and he should be popular...but is he? i mean is he just a natural geek that no matter what you do he'll always be unpopular? and another thing, shouldn't vaughn's reputation be shattered because he hangs out with them AND he's in the science club? i'm so confused! i don't think marshall should be popular nor will i ever wish him to be because the girls would be all over him and i don't think i could watch anymore. noah..let's have your opinion...

I think it shows that a) high school 'formulas' are all a scam, they don't really happen as they 'should' and that it's who you are that counts, not who you know. Hurrah for BHH and it's non-typical ways! Hurrah, I say!

"i mean is he just a natural geek"
I just don't see it! (Throws hands up) There is nothing about Marshall that is geeky.

Nah, Marshall is definitely geeky but in this crazy world geedom is now its own sort of cool - he isn't one of those hideous sterotyped creatures (see Saved By the Bell) he's the kind of geek that will inherrit the world! ;D

Cannot say I agree with that. Many factors come into play, i.e. ugly duckling phase, moving, or anything basically random.
Popularity is much like genetics, speculative at best, just one of those mysteries of the universe as to what happens to occur at a given time.
Or as 'Forrest Gump' so eloquently said 'like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're going to get'. ;D ;D ;D ;D

that would be funny at their like 10 year highschool reunion or whatever, lucas and marshall are hot to other people and not just to us and vaughn is a total nerd. but then all of the girls would like them and i don' think they would be sexy in teh way they are now they may be just sexy for us...(which may or may not be a good thing )

I also can't agree with this. When you change schools, elementary to middle and middle to high school, popularity changes as well.

I absolutely hate the sterio-types like geek or popular... i dont like to label people, because its harse...... but i guess if i was labelled i would probably be weird/freak, im always getting comments like that..... if i had to say so i woulds say marshall was a geek because he dresses like the sterio-typical geek would, and he's really smart....

Hoorah for you and hoorah for Marshall! I see what you mean - I don't think Marshall is that much concerned with being labeled or with what the world in general thinks about him - he seems happy to get on with doing things his way. the only way that it concerns him is that he feels eclipsed by his brother's reputation. Out of the science club it's Lucas who's always seemed the most concerned with fitting in (Vaughn's already there, Josie's anti-popularity and enjoys standing out from the crowd, Corrine's too busy keeping her grades high to care). I think Marshall wanted to join Magnet360 for purely artistic reasons - he likes to play music and Will&Jarrod just happen to be the best musicians in search of a keyboard player and vocalist.

I hate commenting on excavated threads, but at what point did geeky come to mean unpopular?

Some people think that if someone is smart then they cant be popular...but whats wrong with being smart and still being popular?
