anyway, if you're in the Ottawa area next week (thurs, 8pm EST), you can catch his latest play "Inexpressible Island" at the Great Canadian Theatre Company. it'll run until the beginning may. If i had the money, i would go. i tried to go to Suburban Motel last year...but didn't have enough money...as always. anyway, here is more info: www.gctc.cait has a nice pic of him too.....he looks frozen. (i've posted it before)

nah, I'm not offended. There was even an old Canadian comic book hero called Captain Canuck. Maybe at one time it was an offensive term, but you know us Canadians, laid back, friendly and easy-going. Guess we kinda liked the term. Or figured that it would knock the wind out of the sails of the yahoos that started calling us that if we decided to like it, adopt the term and make it our own. Take that you mean-spirited person trying to make us feel small! And look, no blood-shed over the matter, imagine that. As to Tony's play . . . I'm not getting anywhere near Ottawa anytime soon

I wish i would go there. if i had the money, i'd see his play every day from start to finish..and before the curtain closes i would yell, "TONY YOU FREAKING ROCK!! YAH!!" last year, i planned to go and also meet him backstage, but yet again, didn't have enough money. could have been my chance. darn. "but you know us Canadians, laid back, friendly and easy-going" that's what makes ya cool!

Generally I personaly don't think its a bad name. Canucks is a word we embrace. I really didn't even know it was racist until this post.

I had no idea that Canucks is a derogatory term. I have only heard it said when talking about the hockey team. Oh well. Didn't see the play. But I haven't been to Ottawa in 3 years...
