OMG! Possibly new favourite episode evaaaar!
The episode starts with a phone that we discover is in the hands of Marshall. Will and Jarrod are playing guitars loudly and it turns out that Marshall is trying to get Magnet 360 a gig outside school. The person on the other end loves the music but wants a female singer. Marshall suggests they start auditioning and, after initially saying no, Will and Jarrod agree (hoping to meet some 'awesome girls' - typical :. Josie tells Corrine to audition and they have a little girly giggly moment thing. Later on, Corrine is getting ready to audition and Marshall tries his darndest to put her off (see, he doesn't fancy her ) saying that they need someone with 'edge' (like the girl who plays with art knives?). He dissapears behind a curtain and she sings a little bit of 'amazing grace' very quietly and quite flat. She stands in front of a mirror, trying to convince herself she can do this and putting on a brave smiley face - the reflection in the mirror isn't smiling. There's a flash from the mirror and a bit of fancy camera work and we can see in the background that things have chaaaanged. Corrine turns to meet the 'other' blake holseyans. The audience (myself and indigo at this point) gasp gawk and squeal like fangirls. Josie is very, very girly - she looks like a little red-haired dolly ;D. Vaughn looks like Clark Kent and has his nose in a book. Lucas.... you won't beleive it until you see it but I assure you, the fangirls will go WILD (I did)... Lucas is arty with flicky hair and... words are failing me... Marshall *takes a moment to drool a little* wears eyeliner and has a continually surly 'nobody 'gets' me' kind of look on his face. The screaming continues. They ask her if she's an exchange student. She says she came through the mirror. A nice way to introduce yourself, no? Corrine is just a little distressed and runs to the science lab to find Z. It's all empty and dusty and everything is covered with dust sheets. She leaves and bumps into Z who is yelling about getting a bad review and answers all her questions with a loud rhyming couplet (eg: "Professor Z?" "Lives in a tree!" or something like that XD). Anyhoo... arty!Z and Corrine soon bump into Durst - who is all done up and airy-fairy (she reminds me a bit of one of my old english teachers... she was nuts!). And they both panic becuase they know Victor will kick her out when he finds her. Z decides that Corrine must learn to sing!
Easier said than done, though. When they finally seem to be getting somewhere (oh, btw... Josie sings and people don't scream and cover their ears Marshall also sings... I'm afraid we all laughed XD (it's not the voice, it's the delivery))Victor enters and the audience continues their screaming and squealing. Victor demands to know what she's doing there as she didn't audition and then demands to see her sing. Z gives her a bit of advice and she has a go. Danielle says she sounded a bit like Yulia from Tatu... unfortunately, when she starts to get into the swing of it she steps forward, trips on a wire and the mirror falls and smashes. Shock. Victor wants her. Out. (his words, not mine). Corrine, despairing, goes for a little walk and finds the Janitor (YAAAAAY!). He gives her advice about making sure to use both hemispheres of her brain. She goes back in and they all gather around the mirror and try to fix it. It isn't very good, but is a bit Picasso (says Z). after some yoga and a suggestion of making a new mirror, they all run around like children in a playground getting stuff to make a new mirror. once they're done they nearly smash it again (*sigh* art boys! : Z saves it and Corrine gives Z a very enthusiastic hug (we schnort and notice that it's a lot longer and huggier than the hug with Marshall in equation - well dodgy 0_o) there are air kisses. And then Corrine kisses the alternate Marshall (who has been flirting with her all the way through the ep) and he doesn't look displaesaed (wait until I've finished describing the ep to be told why I didn't throw stuff at the TV at this point). She stands in front of the mirror and the same swishy stuff as at the beginging happens and she's back (still in the clothes she was given in the art universe) and toddles off to tell Marshall to stick his audition... well to tell him that she won't audition becuase it's his 'thing' and that she doesn't have to prove anything to herself or to him either. He's baffled. She bangs on about a new perspective and walks away. He follows her, trying to get her to stop and tell him what on earth she's drivelling about. She says something about telling him, someday maybe. He looks a bit annoyed, really. And it ends. Huzzah!
IMO, a brilliantepisode for the sheer comedy factor of alternate personalities (I love alternate universes with a passion - they make for v. good sci-fi). Something tells me that even though this is nothing to do with the big pearadyne mystery that it will become a bit of a legendary episode. I can't wait to get screencaps from this episode!
The reason I don't hate the Marshall/Corrine kiss is because it's an alternate universe with an alternate Marshall. And this particular universe is one where everything is opposite - if Marshall fancies Corrine in this universe then in the normal universe then he probably doesn't really. Hoorah! HailStorm is a happy bunny (and Lucas is just a bunny ^_^)
