I couldn't find this thread so I'm starting a new one.
I would like to start off this fine re-cap by saying: Arrgh argh noooooo! (Mind you, it's not as bad as Nutrition).
We start, as we often do, with a shot of the school. We then find Corrine and Marshall sitting outside. marshall reads a book about Nitrogen, Corrine has her fancy electronic diary thing and is talking about scheduling time together. Marshall is uneager to answer her proddings. He points out that she hasn't fed the venus fly trap in about a week and she gets angry and says "Fine. i'll go and feed the venus fly trap because you obviously don't want to schedule time with me". She flounces off. Marshall notices that she's forgotten to take her flies and so picks them up and dashes after her.
(note: I've become aware that I'm missing something important about Lucas being paranoid and a bit gittish and trying to turn Josie agains Vaughn again. but I think I repressed the memory )
Corrine talks to the plant about how if Marshall and her like each other, they ought to spend time together but he's noncomittal. Marshall enters and she starts questioning him again asking if he wants to spend time with her or not. he says he does but doesn't want to schedule it because it's too much like work 'What are we to you?' asks Corrine, he replies with 'I dunno, what are we to you?' (yup, that's smart. And pretty much sets the tone for Marshall's brain activity throughout the episode).
Corrine snaps and says "Well maybe we're nothing." and, once again, flounces off. (She's getting good at flouncing). Now while all of this has been happening, Marshall has opened the jar of flies and we see the venus fly trap (henceforth it shall be known as vft, it's shorter and easier to type) move its head slightly in an ominous 'yes, this episode will involve and evil plant' way. Marshall talks to the vlt after Corrine has left, complaining about how girls are complicated. but plants areeasy simple, or so he reckons. he pops a fly onto the fleshy leaf of the vft and as he does, it closes around his fingers 'Ouch!' he cries (the wuss. It's a flower : And then he leaves (hehe. geddit? I'll get my coat...) Cue spookaaay music. The camera shows the vft and then moves to show it's shadow on the wall. Miraculously, the shadow gets bigger and starts sprouting feminine limbs. The now humanoid female shado, which is sitting on the desk, jumps off and walks away.
Opening credits
We're now in the cafeteria with Josie and Corrine. Josie is reviewing the C/M situation 'he won't schedule time with you and now you're not talking' "What's the point?" quips Corrine. She feels that Marshall will not commit. All of a sudden, our attention is drawn to the door where a tall blonde girl in a disheveled uniform stands. All of the males instantly zoom in on her. if this was Ally MacBeal, their tongues would now loll out of their mouths in an amusing CG cartoon stylee. but it isn't so they don't. She saunters, ahem, seductively, up the middle of the room, all of the boys staring at her (these boys include Tyler, who was previously canoodling with a different blonde girl, who is by now looking offended, Kubiak and Vaughn (dundundun!). However, it's clear that she's walking to the top of the room where Marshall and Lucas are sitting. And she's not looking at Lucas. At this point we could have stopped watching and still accurately told you what was going to happen, alas. She continues sauntering up to Marshall, Lucas grins like a loon.
But anyway. She makes a comment about the book Marshall is holding, his book on nitrogen and then takes the seat to his right, sliding her hand over his arm as she does so. We see that this leaves a mark. Ew. She asks Marshall if he's going to eat all of his food. he says no, she grabs his burger and takes a big, messy bite out of it. Corrine exclaims that she eats like a pig (we agree. Ick.) Then she [the blode skeeze] belches weirdly. Lucas laughs and Marshall kind of giggles.
The next scene is in science class. Corrine is giving her presentation on Venus Fly Traps. Enter the blonde girl who introduces herself to Z as Diana Music. She keeps rudely interupting Corrine, correcting her as she tries to do her presentation. Consider this her first big mistake
The next scene is outside. Vaughn and Kubiak are playing catch in front of Diana, obviously trying to impress her. The next moment, Marshall and Lucas appear, awkardly, with catching gloves and try to join in They don't so so well and Kubiak states that they oughtn't to have bodies, they should just be brains on sticks.
A row of girls including Corrine, Josie, the pretty girl Tyler was canoodling with and some other girl. The blonde says that they should do somthing, they shouldn't let thsi skeeze hook their boyfriends like that. And she says to Corrine that she's really got her claws into her boyfriend. Corrine says Marshall isn't her boyfriend. Josie tells the girls that they shouldn't be jealous - the boys are just making idiots of themselves. They all agree. Diana wafts past them with her cloud of admirers, telling Marshall that they should do something together. He suggests a movie. Corrine finds it very hard not to be jealous.
She walks down the dorms corridor, giving herself a mental pep-talk about not being jealous. She then sees a not stuck to Diana's door saying 'blah blah blah movie blah blah 7pm LOVE Marshall' Corrine is thrown for a loop. She notices that Diana's door is ajar and she enters. there are steam-makers everywhere, she says it's like a sauna. There are heat lamps too. Corrine opens the wardrobe to find no clothes, weirdly. She then notes the putrid stench. She opes up a draw and flies fly out. the aren't very realistic but it's still manky. Suddenly, Diana is behind her
"What are you doing in my room?"
Corrine tells her that she's wasting her time with Marshall as he's afraid to commit. Diana gloats that he's very commited to her. She orders Corrine out of her room and slams the door on her. Corrine hears a weid buzzing noise and peeps back into Diana's room. She sees her standing in the room, with flies buzzing about. She [diana] snatches one out of the air and eats it. Skeezily. Shock! Horror! Adverts!
Josie asks Corrine if she's sure that it's not just jealousy. Z seems to side with Josie. Corrine insists that she's a man eating plant. We think she soulds a bit like Lucas. She lists the evidence (including the fact that she leave a mark on everybody she touches, well all the males at least). This is interspersed with Marshall getting ready for his date, singing diana's praises (apparently she smells like an exhotic orchid or summat *schnort*). Corrine says that they have to save Marshall from being eaten alive. They rush off to his room. On the way Z meets Vaughn and sees the mark on his arm and decides to analyse it. Corrine and Josie continue to Marsha'lls room. it's too late, they've already left.
We see Marshall and Diana at the cinema (they're seeing 'Revenge of the Pod people. heehee!). She's getting flirty and he's being awkward but not exactly non-receptive. Josie and Corrine enter with torches and find them at an innoportune moment - a scary bit so Diana is snuggling into Marshall's shoulder. Corrine, logically cries "She's eating his neck!" Marshall is none to please to see them blining them with their torch beams of gooseberryness. he tells them that he doesn't need saving. Corrine flounces off (hooraay for flouncing!) and Josie has no choice but to follow her. And they have been being yelled at by an angry cinema audience for tha past 2 minutes.
Marshall turns to Diana and says 'Pah, man eating plant!". Cue her growing scary teethy things and lunging at her.
