From Official Nintendo Magazine: I love you, Nintendo. I somehow doubt Islander'll be entirely satisfied with that.

And there is a reason for that. Does anyone else think that Robin Williams is a very funny man? I love him in Flubber and Jumanji. I'm glad somebody likes Mrs Doubtfire. When I ask people offline, they usually answer that they never watched it and don't like the plot. My only quibble with it is why the bliddy heck did they change it from Madame Doubtfire!?!, as it should be and indeed is in the book. I didn't know that.

Patch Adams is one of the worst movies I have ever seen. Anybody who disagrees is wrong, a liar and possibly a filthy communist.

Aw i'm sorry. If it makes you feel any better I told Indigo about it and she gave me a lecture about how nobody's sense of humor is 'better' than anybody else's unless one person in the contest actually fails to have a sense of humor at all But I do think ICWP would trust my judgement on humor more than yours because our taste in comedy (mine and ICWP's I mean) seems to be more similar (ie. loving the Boosh, schnorting with laughter at Blair/Cameron Bowie genius etc.) I'll stop being mean now. i can't help it, I'm a competitive person but I'm bad at most things so whenever I see the opportunity to win in one way or the other, I find it difficult to control the urge to stomp on anybody who may get in my way :s I'm working on it. Manda reckons it's my middle-class ruthlessness that does it That makes sense to me... just see where things go - chances are you won't be able to be dead close straight away anyway, so just keep chatting, get to know her again - she might be a different person these days, so being close again may not lead to disaster again. Also, based on my experience friendships you lose are often regretted than freidnships you keep.

If it weren't for the second half of this sentence, you would be as bad as those people who like Patch Adams. I have new Internet memes. I want to use them on moronic newbies who excavate and can't spell. Where have they all gone?

Patch Adams is one of the worst movies I have ever seen. Anybody who disagrees is wrong, a liar and possibly a filthy communist. I actually liked Patch Adams. But I also like Arrested Development, so that should earn me some brownie points with you, right? If it makes you feel any better I told Indigo about it and she gave me a lecture about how nobody's sense of humor is 'better' than anybody else's . She's right! I know of people who don't like Cheers, but that doesn't mean their taste in comedy is better than mine. It's the same with music. There are people out there who don't like the Beatles, the Bee Gees, the Beach Boys and Billy Joel, etc, but that doesn't mean that the artists I like are rubbish and that theirs are better. They just have a different opinion to me. 88Keys, I haven't seen the rest of The Green Mile. I'll try to, because I liked what I saw of it. BHS, I also liked Jumangi as well. I saw it quite a few times as a kid, as a the son of some people who are friends with my parents used to have it on video, and I have memories of going over to their house and watching the movie there. EDIT: Talking of comedy, Mork and Mindy was a spin-off of Happy Days (which unfortunately, I've only seen about two episodes of.) In an episode, Richie had a dream about meeting an alien (which was Mork) and this led to Mork and Mindy. And I'm planning to get seasons one and two of Wings and possibly season one of The Mary Tyler Moore Show.

If it makes you feel any better I told Indigo about it and she gave me a lecture about how nobody's sense of humor is 'better' than anybody else's unless one person in the contest actually fails to have a sense of humor at all Well, I'd agree with that. Sister of Hail: you speak wise words *nods* . One perfect example that I've thought of was a sketch in Time Trumpet - the Eastenders green-screen glasses bit. I just found that so, so remarkably dull and stupid that I spent more time thinking "hmm, but your faces aren't covered, so they'll be ported over to the pre-recorded frames ". I'll stop being mean now. i can't help it, I'm a competitive person but I'm bad at most things so whenever I see the opportunity to win in one way or the other, I find it difficult to control the urge to stomp on anybody who may get in my way :s I'm working on it. Manda reckons it's my middle-class ruthlessness that does it Hehe. Never realised you were quite so competitive . But don't be stupid, of course you're not bad at most things. There can't be an ounce of truth in that. I have new Internet memes. I want to use them on moronic newbies who excavate and can't spell. Where have they all gone? Sorry to sound like a newbie myself, but what on Earth is an Internet Meme?

I need to watch Monty Pythons: Life of Brian.
Hail: Short version, what is Dr Who about?
88: Long Islanders are just as rude, but we're snobbish too. Personally, I prefer the city and its snob-free and tact-free attitude. I think masking contempt with politeness is a southern thing.
Gideon: Remember the real world? No, not the tv show.

A Timelord (read: conveniently human-looking alien with two hearts and a mind-boggling space+time ship called the TARDIS, which is an accronym for...something I can't remember) travelling through time and space with a companion (as far as I know said companion is always human and from earth, but I've only seen the two recent series) having adventures, fighting scary monseters, righting wrongs, saving people, dealing with ethical, logical and time-travel related quandries and suchlike. It's a lot of fun to watch having action, adventure, comedy and beautiful heartfelt moments with a sprinkling of moral lessons and plenty of special effects (although the old series is famous for it's hilariously ropey effects and monsters that are clearly men in silly suits)

I thought that was genius (again), but even I noted that the faces weren't covered.
Go Wiki it. And Wiki memes in general while you're at it. It's INTERESTING.
Time And Relative Dimension In Space. *Does the 'I feel slightly bigger a Who fan that Hail' dance*
No, one of the first Doctor's companions was his granddaughter (Though it's not universally agreed that she's actually his granddaughter, for reasons I don't remember). And I'm sure the was an alien (yet still human-looking) companion in one of the fifth Doctor episode I saw.

88: Long Islanders are just as rude, but we're snobbish too... Hmm. Had to re-read that before I realised you weren't talking about me ! ...I prefer the city and its snob-free and tact-free attitude. Tact-free? Excuse me? How can that possibly be good? Tact above honesty, that's how it should be. People's feelings come first. A perfect example of which is: Gideon: Remember the real world? No, not the tv show. There was no need for that.
Really nice synopsis, Hail . I'll just add my tuppence, 'cause I can ! ...a mind-boggling space+time ship called the TARDIS, which is an accronym for...something I can't remember. Time And Relative Dimension In Space. ...travelling through time and space with a companion (as far as I know said companion is always human and from earth, but I've only seen the two recent series). Not really. Human in past two series, but in the classic series was sometimes from Gallifrey (the Doctor's home planet), or, in the case of Susan, the very first companion, half human, half Gallifrey-ian (I believe). *Does the 'I feel slightly bigger a Who fan that both Hail and ICWP' dance* ...having adventures, fighting scary monseters, righting wrongs, saving people, dealing with ethical, logical and time-travel related quandries and suchlike. It's a lot of fun to watch having action, adventure, comedy and beautiful heartfelt moments with a sprinkling of moral lessons and plenty of special effects (although the old series is famous for it's hilariously ropey effects and monsters that are clearly men in silly suits) Hmm. I like that. Nicely put .
We posted at the same time Go Wiki it. And Wiki memes in general while you're at it. It's INTERESTING. *takes a slow, long intake of breath* Whoa, that's long. I might just read it at a later date...
