I am new here. I realy REALLY love this show. I've been reading through several pages of threads in /spoilers, /bhh, and /creator.
ANYways. My idea is that The Janitor HAS no name or identity.
He's not a robot or a clone or a plant or anything that has beeen suggested. He's a man. He was chosen by the "Powers that Be" in the future to take care of the present events surrounding the wormhole. In order to do this, he couldn't BE anyone. He had to give up his true identity and become an enigma in and of himself in order to be placed as The janitor at Blake Holsey in the present. What do we know about him?
1). He's very intelligent. "I like reading."
2). He's very humble. "I'm JUST The Janitor."
3). He has control over Zippers/Lightslips. "I can send you to a place where you belong."
4). He is definately working for someone, possibly someone who wants to preserve the timeline. "Lucas Randall has seen the Tessaract device. Please advise."
5). He's a bit sarcastic, at times. "Having a backwards day?"
6). He knows exactly when someone is having a problem, even if nobody else does. And he always has the right answer. Perhaps he has a record somewhere of every single strange event, who it happens to, and why. "You're standing on my mop."
Anyways. That's my idea. He's not anybody we know. He's not anybody -HE- even knows. He's...Just...The Janitor.

"I'm JUST The Janitor." Maybe he's not humble but is trying to not draw attention to himself by downplaying what he does (though saying that actually does draw attention).

And posted in the correct board, too!
I like that idea. I don't really think the janitor is anyone we already know (like he's Blake Holsey or he's future Lucas). He is just himself, trying to make sure everything is as it should be. Or else he is kind of a "guardian angel" for Josie.

I agree but i think that one of your arguments, though I agree with the characteristic, isn't very well fundamentated. See, people who read aren't necessarily smart. "I like to read...porn" LOL. A bit exaggerated but just to proove a point. Good theory. I think it's the most reasonable time. Besides, wouldn't be a little hypocrit of him to warn everyone not to play with the past? If he was someone from the future, that's exactly what he'd be doing. No logic there.

Sorry MC. How could we not? I don't know *lol* I was in one before I became disillusioned by it Back to auken's theory though: 6). He knows exactly when someone is having a problem, even if nobody else does. And he always has the right answer. Perhaps he has a record somewhere of every single strange event, who it happens to, and why. "You're standing on my mop." This is disputable because he doesn't know everything. For example, he did not know where Tyler was going (in Nanotechnology). From Radio, he did not know why all sound emitting devices were to be turned off.

Perhaps he knows A LOT (that's been prooven) but the reason why he is in Blake Holsey is not only to prevent certain events from happening or viceverse but he also needs pieces of information that are unkown to him. Maybe those facts are crucial somehow and he is finding them out through his investigation.

Wouldn't that make for an interesting twist.

Ok, I figured 12 days isn't too long dead to post in here...
Alright..my question is...during the Pearadyne explosion, its shown that he's working in the lab, right? Well it shows in 77, he's a janitor at BHH. So did he work as a janitor, go to the lab, and after the explosion, go back to being a janitor at BHH? Also, with all this travel (time and non), who was there in place of him? Could it be possible that he was working both at BHH and Pearadyne at the same time?, or due to the fact that none of the wormhole activity took place save for the important dates, the Janitor just kind of drifted? Does that make the slightest bit of sense??
