OMG! Great ep I'm writing the spoiler right now.... bare with me
Things this ep contains: An upset red-head. A cheerleading Durst. Several freaky hair-do's. One of the science club getting expelled. A confession. Hand holding. A freaky explaination about Josie and Vaughn's shared gentic marker.
start Close up school Josie's room. Josie's got her headphones on [freemont park] got her helmet on got her skateboard with her. "Josie you can't cut another class...that's four this week." "Z doesn't CARE if I'm not in his class." "Yeah but Durst does. She thinks he's too lax with the rules, she's coming to whip us into shape. "She is?" Josie asked looking slightly alarmed but then she shrugs. "You would know... If you had been in our last class."
Durst it telling Z off. Saying he's not a good teacher. Children need discipline. All that malarki "I want to...reach out to the students." he explains "I want to be a good role model... No spitting or...THROWING CABBAGES? these rules date back to 1897 [or whatever] when the school was started. They're not relevent." "Rules! Not relevant..." Josie skates past the window. "That is where your teaching style has ended up. If Josie Trent is not in my science class in 3 minutes...haul her in. And Professor Zachary? Show No Mercy."
Durst starts talking bout Chirality [pronounced Kyrality] when a girl comes in... "Miss Edwards! You're late...detention." Show science club having terrified glances... "Chirality...from the greek word meaning hand... we can..." She grabs Lucas by the hair and sits him up. "Posture!" she says. Lucas's hair was already a mess [honestly it was a total tip!] "We can never put out left hand directly ontop of our right and have a perfect match." "They're mirror opposites." She explains every chemical has a chiral opposite. Right handed ones are harmless...but left handed ones can be deadly.
She proceeds to make the class smell something [Carroway seeds i think is what Marshall identifies them as] "Now... we're going to make Chiral opposites." She sets them all making chemicals [see Corrine and Marshall working together... Lucas staring at his.... etc]
The chiral opposite of Carroway seeds smells like mint. Durst sniffs it and is getting very high on the stuff [honestly she's giggling and everything] The scent escapes under the door like a snake and starts looking around.
"I tell you what anyone would say with your rules miss durst they'd..." the snake goes up his nose and he grips the wall. "Show no mercy!" he cries. [opening credits]
"miss Trent... do you understand how serious skipping classes is?" Z asks [cue Tommy asking 'what's with the hair'...it's all slicked back and ew] Josie gives a load of guff about not caring. He confiscates her skateboard. "The only class I learn anything in is yours. I get A's in all my other classes anyway. I mean English...all these stories about women who give up. WHO CARES." "Two weeks detention." "You can't do that!" Josie cries in annoyance. "Take another for questioning my authority." [ps that's what it says on her skateboard 'question authority'] "What?" she muttered. "And another."
"Hey." says Corrine as a very vexed Josie enters the room. "We did this really cool experiment with out DNA today in class... Hair fingernails you know. Did you know that every human DNA helix twists to the right." We all ignore Corrine's banter. "Did YOU know I just got 11 detentions...by Z!" she [where she got 11 from i dunno i worked out twelve!] complains. Vaughn Lucas and Marshall enter. "Just got busted?" "Yeah according to... Professor ZACHARY, throwing a football in the halls is a violation!" Vaughn says angrily as he throws himself onto the chair. "And so is singing!" Says Marshall. Lucas glares at his detention slip [he probably got it for weirdest hair... Z can't win it he's the judge] "Guess we're all in detention together." "I'm not doing it!" Josie said.
Z's outside telling off Miss Edwards for carrying her pom poms [they're not part of the standard school uniform]
The science club screw up there faces. "Uck who let one off?" asks Marshall. Corrine looks disgusted but says it's coming from the science room. They all run to the science room asking what died. "It was supposed to smell like sandlewood." Durst laughs. "No offence Professor D..." "Professor D?" Josie asks looking slightly confused. "That definitely smells sulphuric." Durst makes several jokes about farting. [okay so she's gone off the deep end]
Z comes in and demands to see her in his office [by now he has nerdy glasses on...shock horror] "Why? What's all the stink about!" the class cracks up laughing. "NOW!" he orders [scary Z!]
It turns out that Z has been made PRINCIPAL by Victor Pearson [he shows an email... how Z got his email addy i dunno...] He tells Durst off about making crude jokes. "But you said you wanted to reach out to the students." "i also said we had to be good role models."
"Your dad wouldn't make Z principal forever...would her?" Josie asks a little scared. "I don't know." "He's making me clean the school grounds! For skipping detention." "We'll all pitch in..." says Vaughn [aahhhh] "I'm not clenaing the grounds." she protests. "What're..." "I'm going to have a words with...Zachary!" she storms off. [bad idea Josie]
She goes in and tells him off. "No more cutting classes Miss Trent... or i'll have to fail you." "No! You've already failed me!" she walks out. "I'm not done talking with you!" he says and follows her out. "One more word..." "Okay all of you chillax!" says Lucas coming in between them. "Or what?" "Or I'll have to expell you." Z says. "Too late!" Josie says "I quit." "Z! You can't expel Josie." "I just did. And I can do the same to each and everyone of you." he points to the science club memebers. Josie walks off. ADVERTS [ack evil adverts]

"Give me a C!" Durst cries waving the pom poms. "Gimme a H... Gimme an I...Gimme an R..." She proceeds to spell Chirality. "I get it!" Miss Edwards says grinning. Lucas bursts in. "Professor D...Zachary expelled Josie." "You have to change his mind." Durst and Miss Edwards rush off.
"Okay is it just me or has Durst been surprisingly cool?" "And Z's been acting weird... they've become chiral opposites. D must be Dursts harmless form and Zacahary must be... Z's poinsonous form." "this all started with the Carroway seeds."
We see Josie throwing things left right and center into her bag. Vaughn comes in. "Oh Hi... do you want my Freemont park CD?" she asks "No!" he says [wether that's coz he doesn't like freemont park or suit himself] "How about my... Complete unabridged guide to navigating wormholes?" "No!" "I want you to have something to remember me by." "Don't talk like that." She sighs and stands in front of him. they're very close. "You have everything here Josie. Your friends... the science club... I" She nods. "I like you Josie." he takes another step toward her. She just looks puzzled. "Alot!" [cue Tommy screaming 'THEY'RE GONNA KISS' and 'WAY TO GO VAUGHN YOU CONFESSED'] "I know..." she whispers. "This is something I have to do." she says. She walks out on him saying to herself. "I won't say goodbye." [Vaughn looks seriously hurt!]
"Your fired!" D's been giving Z a telling off. Z doesn't like it. "Fired! Ha that's a good one." Durst laughs. Z in his geeky form looks deadly serious. Dursts laugh fades.
------------
Marshall's bottling the minty smell in a test tube. Corrine is hoping it'll work. Lucas and Vaughn watch in anticipation.
-------------
We see Josie with her bags packed leaving The Janitor approaches her. "This might not be the answer to your problem." "really.." she asks skeptically. "Right now it looks pretty good." Durst exits too. "Fired. I'd give you a lift but my cars on the fritz." they walk. "I was planning to walk anyway. Anywhere as long as i never have to look up [says name] again!" "All those stories about women who fail. Who cares." Durst drops her bags. "What?" "We've become them. Those women we despise in the fictional stories! It's time we do something about it. It's time we made the school a better place." "I hate school too much to fight back." Josie sighs. "Yeah." Durst says. "There's way too much butt to kick." She grabs her bags and begins to leave agin. Josie shakes her head "Did you do some kind of reverse psychology thingy?" she asks.
Marshall attacks them as they come in. Attacks them with the mint thing. Durst tells him off [woohoo Dursty's back!] "Mr wheeler. How would you like to discuss this little... experiment with me in detention." "Not very..." He defies the detention. She smiles. "Very well." she winks at him and leaves. "It didn't work." Said Vaughn looking depressed. "Durst winked." Z is coming along. He hands Josie her skateboard. He has a deep meanigful sorry with her. "And I do care if you skip class." he adds. "On a personal level or... as in I'm in trouble if I do it again?" "Both." he says.
Durst is telling Josie about skipping class. About flouting rules blah blah. "Fine I...won't do it again." she says. "I'm glad...or you wouldn't have the oppotunity to take this course." She hands Josie a sheet of paper. "Women who changed the world." she says smiling. "Marie Curey..." blah blah blah. Josie nods and grabs the school rule book. She thorws it in the waste bin. "Miss Trent!" "You wanted to help me make the school a better place. That's where you start." She leaves. Durst bends to take it out of the rubbish bin but stops and smiles.
-----------------------
Josie and vaughn are in the science lab. "I don't get it." josie says absently spinning a model of the helix. Have you followed my notes from science class?" "Yeah...or at least I thought I did." her eyebrows furrowed. "All helixes are supposed to twist to the right...mines goes to the left." "Thats' weird. I didn't want to tell anyone this but... so does mine." "How?" "We're not...Brother and Sister." Vaughn asks a little worriedly. Josie shakes her head. "No." she adds a little worried herself. She has the DNA marker sheets in her hand. "Our DNA doesn't match we just share a genetic trait..." "Are we the only two in the world...like this?" he asks. "I dunno.... But I guess we'll find out...together." He grips her hand and squeezes it lightly. She smiles at him and he smiles back. [Tommy screaming 'oh for gods sake just kiss already!'] The Janitor is watching at the window....

Chirality is mirror opposites.
Vaughn was pretty worried. I felt sorry for him when Josie walked out.

She thinks he's too lax with the rules, she's coming to whip us into shape. *imagines Durst with a whip* "Fired. I'd give you a lift but my cars on the fritz." they walk. think she's been living in the school? Josie nods and grabs the school rule book. She thorws it in the waste bin. "Miss Trent!" "You wanted to help me make the school a better place. That's where you start." She leaves. Durst bends to take it out of the rubbish bin but stops and smiles. hum.... Think I shall do that a school tomorrow in front of the principal or some other administration. We just got ours today. (*I am not encouraging the throwing away of your own school rule book*). Actually, I'll put it in my French teacher's recycling bin and let it serve a better cause. I was just wondering do you think Jim read all the posts months ago ... that he thought to put our fears to rest. I was thinking that too.

Excellent recap Tommy...Thanks!! ;D ;D ;D
And another great episode...oooh Season 3 just has so many...
Chirality is somewhat like Genome and Pheromones blended together with some really big curves thrown in for good measure to get a wonderfully 'out there' episode...so much fun...I'm really liking this episode too...Season 3 is going to be the best yet... ;D
So Lucas protects Josie...still hopeful I see...
And Josie tells Vaughn she's leaving...and he finally admits his feelings for her ;D...about time...and she walks out on him ...now she's in control...Vaughn will have to play by her rules now...great scene... ;D
Durst and Z were great...can't wait to see that...
Not sure I want to see Z's new look...
Ooooh...they could have found a new use for the licorice tea...overcomes any smell ;D...and no one thought of it...
Now remember...the episodes were filmed by early Nov 2003...so unless the last scene was reshot...that was already planned...I never believed that Josie and Vaughn would be anyway...
Eagerly awaits seeing Chirality too...excellent Josie:-*Vaughn moments... ;D

I loved this episode. Again, it's not huge with the plot (although it does finally answer the DNA question. I think it's about time too. It kind of made me laugh the way Vaughn said "We're not brother and sister' very clearly just in case some people at the back missed it Can't have complaints now) Deffinitely a brilliant ep for the acting though. Valerie Boyle is hilarious! I love when she does her little cheer/rap for 'Miss Edwards' (who is the blonde girl whom Tyler was flirting with in Allue) And the line "Come on, Miss Trent, the revolution is this way!" Jeff Douglass is also very scary as 'Zachary' The scene where he expels Josie is excelent. (Emma's acting is also superb in it) I loved the J/Vness ^_^

I can't wait to see it. Though one thing I do have trouble with premise of Josie cutting classes to go skateboarding (yeah we finally see her on one) is that the only authority that she respects is Z and we have seen in other episodes like Echolocation, that he does rein in her in pretty quickly when she has crossed a line.

At this point I could imagine Durst and Josie as prisoners...
"What're you in for?"
