Just out of curiosity, is it ever clear whether left-handed vs right-handed DNA is similar to other dominant/recessive traits? So that while the majority of the population may have the right handed DNA, a small percentage have left handed trait? So it's a bit odd, like being born with an extra finger or a second Y chromosome, it's still within range of variation for our species.
Or are Josie and Vaughns the only humans in existance that have that trait?

I keep meaning to ask my Biology teacher about that. I'd guess from what Corrine said ("Everybody's DNA helixes twist to the right") that it's the latter option - Josie and Vaughn are some kind of mutanty things.

They are probably mutations. Many people get mutations, but when cells divide, telomeres prevent the mutations from going into the cellular copies. So they usually die out. And often mutations cause cancer. Only mutations in egg or sperm cells will get passed down to the next generation. And many babies who do get mutations will often be "aborted" by the woman's body, ending up as a non-pregnency or a miscarriage. Those three reasons are why mutations are so rare.
But as soon as they mentioned DNA on the show, I knew they'd resolve the genetic marker issue. I'm glad they made it very clear they're not brothers, but I loved Vaughn's reaction. He must've been thinking "Oh crap, I'm in love with my sister and have been thinking naughty thoughs about her!" Classic look, good acting.
Speaking of good acting, wow to Durst. Valarie Boyle was in top form today. I love seeing Durst not be the stereotypical mean person (like in Lifetime), but its so rare. Maybe Josie had a lasting effect on her.
Jeff's acting was also great in this episode. It really shed light on Josie and Z's close connection. Its almost like he's a father figure to her. Even in his nasty Chiral form, her plea seemed to get through to him momentarily. He stopped calling her "Ms Trent", and called her "Josie" in a very sad way, before snapping back to his mean form.
Anyway, mutations are almost always recessive, so it would make sense that Victor, Kelly, and Josie's dad have the reverse Chiral form too. Victor himself said that both of their destinies are still being written. And it may very well be Aveneir. Whoever had the idea that they were "made" may be right; Vaughn and Josie may be test tube babies specifically picked to have the reverse DNA trait.

They are probably mutations. Many people get mutations, but when cells divide, telomeres prevent the mutations from going into the cellular copies. So they usually die out. **nods** Contrary to a very popular comic book series, mutations do not give you the ability to heal quickly or move things with your mind.
That was funny. But good; I like that BHH goes back and resolves the issues that it brings up, even if they are mentioned casually. Unlike a certain soap opera I used to watch. **grumbles** I agree; everybody was awesome in this ep. And the Josie/Z was great, when she said something along the lines of "You get me," like he's the only one who does. Good stuff.
I can't really say anything that hasn't already been said. Great episode. Great acting. Advances the plot and mystery. Great J/Vness (awww....) I even thought it was cool to see that girl that was in Allure once again (I like seeing some of the other students from BHH, so it's not just like the Science Club are the only students and everyone else is just background.) I would love to watch it again but it's late and I need to sleep. I have the day off and the apartment to myself Monday; I think a BHH marathon is in order. **nods**
One more thought; was a preview for next week ever shown?

I have kind of mixed feeling about the episode, and forgive me if I ramble a bit. I loved a the Josie/Z interactions however...
I have trouble believing that as goodnatured as Z is, he would let Josie cut five classes. He's usually been good about setting boundaries. He had no trouble disciplining her in Echolocation and actually Josie realized that she had crossed the line, and didn't blame him.
Except for some of the J/V moments and revelation about the DNA, I felt that at least in the Josie/Z interations it should have taken place in season one.
I also didn't quite get the rationale between Josie cutting Z's classes and saying that they were the only classes that she learned anything. If she was cutting English classes because of the weak female characters in her assignments, I could understand that. Again back to the early episode feeling perhaps she was testing Z to see if he cared enough to prevent her from self-destructing. It seemed important to her that she mean more than just another student to him.
ALso from a teaching standpoint, if would has made more sense if Durst made Z stay and observe to learn from her example. Also it was telling that even before the CHiarility switch she was a good teacher.
On the sort of naughty side, Corporeal punishment was accepted in many places at the time of the founding of the school. If Principal Zachary was adhering to the orginal bylaws, things could have gotten quite ... interesting.

this episode was pretty cool. i missed the beginning part where Durst was talking to Z about Josie cutting class and Josie was riding on her skateboard or something. but it was cool. Jeff was sexaayy as the evil nasty "Zachary". LOL i was laughing when Durst was getting "high" on the caraway seeds. "mm...mintAHHlicious!" ;D and Emma was superb in the Josie/Z scenes. the last part where Z gives Josie's skateboard back was sweet. he seemed nervous when he was getting ready to tell Josie he was sorry and all that. i was like "KISS ALREADY! KISS!" lol, but thats just me. amazing J/Zness in this episode. the J/V stuff was alright. Vaughn admitting he liked Josie a lot was also sweet. i was like "aww!!" when he said "Josie, i like you!...a lot" to Josie. it was sweet. i'm glad Josie and Vaughn aren't brother&sister because it'd be wierd and all. i mean, Vaughn kissed Josie in Transparence. it'd be kinda wrong to kiss your brother or sister. now, LIKING your brother or sister a lot. now THATS wrong. lol.

Now I don't wanna be mean or anything but... why in all things holy is Josie gonna have Vaughn help her on the DNA experiment... and then she wonders why her DNA is spinning the wrong way?!
Duh, it's because Vaughn's helping! Did she not notice him saying, "yea, I didn't want to tell anybody but mine's spinning to the left as well." That shoudl tell her something.
Man, that girl, she has the Vaughn on her mind... what is Vaughn's mark in the class? I tell you, me if I notcied some weird trade I shared with Vaughn, I'd probably do the experiment again... as it may not be accurate... tsk tsk to Josie. If you were behind in science... would Vaughn be your choice to help catch up?! I'm aiming for a no on my end.
Valerie superb job, Z amazing, everyone was 'back in character' awesome... Marshall's "who let one rip" was hilarious... what's his face, oh yea Lucas' hair was cute... Corrine seemed a bit too happy and almostas if the smelll didn't bother her.
Hey maybe she created Vaughn and Josie... ooo that would be good!
A few questions... why was Professor Z in some previous unknown conversation talking about Josie's butt?
Why did Corrine seem extra happy Durst was teaching?
Is Professor Z a real meanie deep down?
and... why is there only one poor janitor to rake up the leaves?
Oh and being the oh so observant person I am the date on the e-mail was messed... its read 15-03-37 -0500... what up wid dat? What yea is they in?
And why would Vic e-mail a letter like that, no signature nothing?... dat's not chill!

Is Professor Z a real meanie deep down? and... why is there only one poor janitor to rake up the leaves? 1) she couldnt have created them as a baby. 2) when was he talking about her butt? 3) because she likes authoritarian rules. 4) only if you chemically treat him. 5) two secretive janitors? just doesnt work. Josie2 is enough.

I was being funny... about the janitor bit... oh and teh gas situation was funny... omg what comedy...
Sure she can create them... anything is possible at bhh!
Mac, when Josie said "you said you didn't care if my butt was in the chair"
Some reason it reminds me of Heather's story....

Wow Kaytee, you're real nice, I for one don't think Vaughn is dumb, he's smarter then he comes off to be. I thought it was an alright episode, not as good as I thought, my mom doesn't understand why my dad ad I watch it. I am going to have to rewatch ti though because I was getting my breakfest in the beginning so I misssed some fo it and from there on I was confused. I still don't know to pronounce chirality.

Sure she can create them... anything is possible at bhh! Maybe when she went back to Pearadyne in Wormhole. I still think there's something unexplained about what she did back there. I bet its addressed, atleast partially, in Friction.
