The thought occured to me before that Z could know more about Pearadyne than he's letting on. Yes, it does sound crazy but what makes me think this are two little bits. Firstly, in Wormhole, he was able to open the door of the machine's chamber. We saw in Echolocation that Josie needed a code to get it open. Now I doubt that Pearadyne's security would be so lax as to have the same codes for everything. In Who Z confesses that he worked for Pearadyne but says that all he did was answer phones and run a few errands. Again, I don't think Peradyne's security would let an errand-running intern know the codes to the important stuff like the machine. Also, in Fate, Josie tells him that she lost her other qiong ball when he gives her the one he took at the begining of the episode. When he hears this, it takes a second to sink in, then a look of shocked realisation crosses his face. So... do you think Z knows more about Pearadyne than he's admitting? And if so, do you think he was spying on them or a loyal lackey? (I know I prefer to beleive he was spying)

Yes! I said Z Janitor and Kelly know WAAAAAYYYY more than they're letting on only they think it's for the benefit of Josie and the others to keep it quiet.
[Off topic but nasty thought- people have made joked about the Janitor being Josie's dad.... [including me shameful as it is] But what if it's Z!!!!!!]

He's probably Victor's brown-headed, sexy lackey. And then later on in the show, Victor will think Z isn't doing his job, so he'll (Victor, of course) send a woman to the school and watch Z.

There are a whole lot of warring parties involved. Pearadayne, Janitor, Clone Josie, Kelly.... who knows.

wouldn't surprise me. His backround at Pearadyne hints it, but he seems to clueless about it most of the time. If he knew about it, one would think he'd get to the bottom of problems faster. He seems more curious than someone who already knows too much would act. (the Janitor on the other hand acts like he knows too much).

Maybe Z and the Janitor are working together...
Josie does turn to both for help...
Z did become Prof Z of BHH after the previous prof got sucked into the infamous wormhole, which is mostly controlled by the Janitor...
Z and the Janitor seem to be on the same side...whatever side that is... ;D ;D

In the pilot ("Wormhole"), someone, either Durst or Lucas, mentions about the janitor disappearing. Which left the position open for the Janitor. Then the science teacher "disappears", creating the opening for Z to come in. Both previously worked for Pearadyne.
Can we believe what we've been told by the writers about Z? Ie: Teaching at an all girls school. Did he really? Doesn't sound like something you'd mutter to yourself if it didn't actually happen. Or did they (Janitor and whoever it is he's working for) alter Z's memory? Of course the flaw with that is the ep. where Z lost his memory. Would an altered memory be overrode by having his memories restored? Or would the memory be altered permanently without fear of the original memories ever returning? Hm.

I don't recall that. Where did you read that?

Yeah, I remember that too.
Altered memories, I doubt it.
What I think about Z is that he knows more than he's letting on, but he doesnt really know it all like the Janitor. Like in those cop movies, the damsel in distress reveals she's really an undercover cop, and she helps the main characters take down the bad guy. That's what I think. Isnt that kinda what they pulled with Kelly Trent?

Hailstorm, I love the way you think! Look how close Grant has gotten to Victor Pearson so even though he was only an intern.
Another possiblity is that he was in deeper than he admitted and got out when he could and is trying to "atone" by teaching and protecting the Science Club.
BTW, does anyone have a Blake Holsey Timeline of when things occurred?
Also are there any good episodes with Z and Victor Pearson interacting? I'd love to see what kind of chemistry they have going.

Actually I think it was Durst -when she was talking to Victor about what happened to the Science teacher. Something like "first the janitor, and now this. What if it happens to one of the students? How am I going to explain this?" Something like that. I've only seen it about three times with a span of two months between viewings so the exact words are sketchy in my memory.
Speaking of memory. It is the episode in which Z loses his memory that we best see Z and Victor interact. First Victor angry at Z for questioning the stability of Vaughn's home life then as the one who wanted Z as a teacher at BHH to begin with. "Go Quakers."

no it was Lucas who said about the missing janitor:
Lucas: And what about that janitor last year what ever happened to him? Marshall: Don't start with the janitor stuff again!
my mam said the other janitor's probably being held captive in the new Janitors cupboard... my mam's weird!

When he hears this, it takes a second to sink in, then a look of shocked realisation crosses his face. Yes that's what I noticed too and yeah, the other stuff you said make sense too, so yeah, Z knows more about Pearadyne!
