The idea, Joy and Mirror, ... hey, i didn't say I agreed with her opinion. I was just sharing my interpretation of it. (*Glares at Au* Atleast i partially understood what JoyFital was trying to say. You were completely confused and dragged some crazy scenario into it ) You guys ever watch Bill Nye? Mr. Rogers? Mr. Dressup? They're all fictional, and they all use direct address, that is, they speak, well, in a word, directly to the audience. thing is, those shows were made for the characters to talk to the audience (but I've never heard of Mr. Dressup). The characters actively acknowledged the audience and it was a part of their character. BHH doesn't do that. The character of Professor Z wasn't made to directly talk to the audience. Bill Nye and Mr. Rogers were made to. repeating: I never claimed to share JoyFital's opinionWhy were no webisodes made for season 3? Please say it wasn't replaced by the writings on the chalkboard. Those are hard to read without pausing the video. I actually try the Hemispheres webisode in Art, drawing upside down. It does make what I draw come out better but the need for practice is something I still need

Hmm... Bill Nye - I remember that show, didn't learn anything sorry Mr. Rogers - when I was a little kid Mr. Dressup - Wha?! Never heard of it, did it aired in another place or earlier time like year?
These are all good characters but I can learn much better when I watch Power Rangers, Especially the first 3 seasons
Zack: Masterdon! Kimberly: Teradactyl! Billy: Triceratops! Trini: Saber tooth Tiger! Jason: Trynasaurus
I miss the classics!

Obviously you havent learned much.
Mammoths Pteradactyl Smilodon Tyrannosaurus Rex
And guess what? Mammoths and Smilidons arent dinosaurs. and Pteradactyl isnt either, its a flying reptile. All Power Rangers did was teach people to be racist and sexist. The Black Ranger was black? The Yellow Ranger was asian? The Pink Ranger was the cheerleader girl? Give me a break. I hope Jeff never liked that [poo].

Ok, tis me Kat and I must say tsk tsk... Mr. Dressup was like one of the best children's show out there... amazing amazing amazing. The androngenous Casey, his/ her dog Finnegan just awesome. The Tinkle Trunk... Jeff, these people don't know the half of it... actually, do you know if Casey was a boy or girl? I never figured that out. Maybe they did it intentionally with the thought that all kids would relate no matter boy or girl? I get the web thingys, it makes sense.. come on.. you all, don't be dense <--- now I am sad because Ernie is gone... well, we have repeats! clogging to a fresh staring over!

Sorry for the spelling but I still remember the words! True, in the first season black ranger was black then white Zack - Adam? the yellow ranger asian later changed to black a.k.a Trini - Aisha, red ranger Jason-Rocky I hate the 2nd season ranger he sucks and Blue and Pink were the same except in late Season 3 when Kat took over Kimberly's place. Oh yeah Tommy went from Green to White.
I use to watch Power Rangers but now Disney owns Power Rangers and the only Power rangers I liked that was made by Disney is Power Rangers Ninja Storm and thats it the rest suck or maybe I haven't seen 1 episode of it because it always airs very early like 6:00 AM or 6:30 AM
the Disney version is just like the Japanese Sentai which is Hurricanger (Magiranger a.ka. Power Rangers Mystic Force is airing in japan) its just that the lines that the characters are saying suck the blue ranger is a girl and, there will be 2 girls playing the blue and pink ranger on Power Rangers Mystic Force thats if Disney continues to follow the Japanese Sentai version, by the way Japanese Sentai has been there for 30 years and Sentai stands for I think taskforce I forgot but the first one was GoRanger back in 1975
Is it true that the USA network aired Dynaman I think, I don't know but it was aired in 1987-1988 only had 6 episodes and aired it as a parody?
Did the person played as Ernie died?
Also was Mr. Dressup aired in another place because I had not heard of it in the United States?
Sorry for all these questions, a lot of things are still new to me.

Season 1 of Power Rangers was heavy on the stereotypes. It wasn't just their ethnicity either. They had stereotypical personalities. But I didn't think it taught racism. I thought it was "Hey... look. Five COMPLETELY different people and they're all cool!" True, they were pushing it with the costume colours but they did fix that up a bit with the first switcharoo.
You bailed a lot later than I did. I stopped after In Space. IMO that was the best season they had but a still stopped watching it after it ended. I did see a bit of Lost Galaxy though, and quite a lot of Time Force, over a summer holiday at some point.
Does anyone know the actor's name? It would make it easier to find out.
I know that Thuy Trang died, though. She was Trini in the original PR. She died in a car crash while not wearing a seatbelt.
That quote credit to TVTome and/or whoever submitted it there.

Just a reminder to keep things on topic please or I will start deleting at random. If you want to carry on talking about Power Rangers and such, please make a thread in the general board or take it to the LPE.
I got what you were saying, JoyFital - is it right to mix a non-audience adressing show with an audience-adressing feature on the internet? I can't say I really, really mind all that much. My main problem is whether or not any information within the webisode is considered a part of or seperate to canon (eg. he likes hotdogs, he likes surfing music). There's an argument for either side, really. you could say that as they're on the official website, were presumably written by the BHH people and star Jeff Douglas that yes, they're canon. However, as it's a completely different style thing and can't be accessed by those who don't understand English or don't have the internet, then it's not fair to call them canon. They're also not a part of the main show (obviously enough).

looks at thread title. says webisode right up there. this is getting so off topic. bringing it back to webisodes...hey, i didn't say I agreed with her opinion. I was just sharing my interpretation of it. (*Glares at Au* Atleast i partially understood what JoyFital was trying to say. You were completely confused and dragged some crazy scenario into it ) *yeah, blame me. **smacks MC** * I knew what she was saying, that's why I asked who should he be talking to then if not the audience. and my 'scenario' was funny and I was using it to make a funny point. and I also said the Webisodes should be taken as intended. which was what Jeff also said, with much more description.OMG, please tell me you watched Bill Nye, Jeff. That would be the coolest thing ever. Almost. Auen: I'm sure having Bill Nye make a guest appearance isnt cheap. And whats to say that Jeff isnt good in science. Maybe he's really good at it, and just chose acting. Scott, here's an idea: you could be the next Bill Nye as Scott Nye. I'd watch "Scott Nye the Science Guy". Anyway. the Webisodes are great just as they are. they do need to load faster though, but once you load them you can watch them as much as you want and they load fast each time after that. Season 3 Webisodes would be great too.

Wouldn't it be better to just delete EVERY offending post after the warning and save the "Why was MY post deleted and not his?" complaints.
I don't see the harm in it. I mean I know that JoyFital is at around the oldness and wiseness to be thinking "Hang on. This is rather silly, really." But BHH is, in the end, a kid's show, right? And as far as I can tell, kids seem to like the idea that their hero is addressing them personally, even if he or she doesn't exist in real life. You elder types who find it disconcerting will should just smile and take it with a grain of salt.

looks at the post above your post. Says keep things on topic, please. Once a moderator has requested a return to topic, there is no need to restate that immediately. It is acceptable for non-mods to lend a hand by saying 'Hey guys, back on topic' if a moderator hasn't said so yet, but saying so after the request has been made by a mod is not useful or helpful. It's a patented Katie figure of speech (or more accuarately, figure of threat). What it means is that if things do not get back on topic pretty snappily, I will delete without mercy anything I think even slightly deviates from the topic at hand. And I may even lock it. Yes, I suppose so. Although I'd like to see some evidence about the kids liking being adressed directly by their hero thing (I don't think I ever thought it was particularly wonderful as a kid - it may be one of those things that adults thinks kids like but, really, they're indifferent, find it annoying/embarassing or there are marked individual differences). I've just realised, i don't hink I've answered the actual question of the thread *le gasp* Erm... I think probably the Equation webisode. Is that the one that compares equations to baking a cake? Hail likes to bake ;D

I have a degree in science from Dalhousie (psychology). Ian, who wrote for Bill Nye, who is, indeed, the REAL Bill Nye, was the science advisor on Strange Days. He wrote the Webisodes, so, you are getting a bit of a Bill/Jeff combo.

They're also not a part of the main show (obviously enough). I believe, they are to be complimentary to, but not essential to the series, ergo; they are not part of the canon, nor should they stylistically be considered against the show. It saddens me that they are available only in english. fixed quote - MirrorCard
